Legend has it that it it's Fischer playing as Deep Blue 😂

    What I believe.
Big blue used brute force to work forward four or five moves – all combinations of all pieces – to avoid a checkmate.
But to decide the next move, he didn't simply avoid checkmate while trying to checkmate Kasparov. Big Blue made many matrix comparisons, and if he found a known disposition of the pieces, it made a move specified by a panel of grandmasters, embedded in the software. This is why it seemed, at times, that it was not a computer but a dozen of grand masters suggesting the move. Like those smartphones when you take a picture of the Moon, they put some known details in the photograph, even if the camera hasn't captured them…

A cruel irony of this game was the idea that computers can now beat people in chess , while in reality that happened more or less 10 years after when your everyday pc and chess programs reached the lever of deep blue.

I'll come back in a year's time to tell you I'm watching in 2024

Crazy how IBM was once on the front of AI – and they even pulled into Jeopardy! with Watson – but they just seem to have fallen off now

Kasparov vs deep blue he lost. His rating 2800. I My self KREMPOV Vs STOCKFISH 10 rated 3200. Results 4 wins 1 loss. I won

Watching from 2023, getting ready to show this historic game to my students in our school's eSports team. Thanks for the fantastic review!

@gothamchess give us the game against the treadmill !!

6:58 couldn’t Garry Kasparov move his rook to get back in check?

How do you know to resign when you still have a queen, rook and five pawns left? That’s what’s crazy to me. I guess it’s because I’m at a low level of play so people tend to blunder a lot.

The best player that lived until then and now, was Bobby Fischer. Just a small correction.

Never knew chess had friendly fire. No wonder why i kept losing.

April 2023 now. I'm going to look for more of your videos about computer chess. Love your explanations and insights!

Watching this on 6th Apr 2023
    Thanks for vid!

Hey I'm watching exactly 2 years in the future, 31st March 2023

The last time that a human was the best chess player on earth

Hello i'm watching in 2023 , i was learning about artificial intelligence in college and saw this game mentioned in the book and decided to watch it

I wanna see different versions of stockfish vs deep blue

2023 here. Knowing a treadmill can beat you is disheartening to say the least. I’m barely out of the hundreds so I’m not sure I’ll have the stamina to make 1500-1800 🤷‍♂️

I was playing a strong bot and we both had such a strong Pom structure it self destructed because it couldn’t attack
