This was a great video. And a really frigging interesting premise.
I totally buy that Levy prefers the commentary side of things–he's a solid player making a push for GM and I wish him well, but the dude just seems so comfortable in heavy social interaction and gets into these games with such enthusiasm. I'm sure part of it's the brand, but the guy comes off as someone that really enjoys his work. You don't get that rook schtick without at least some level of fun.

I stole tester cologne too with 3 friends we hit every corner store in mall of america, back then it was Bloomingdales, macy's, Nordstroms, and one of my buddies left before we hit the third store, we hid the stolen cologn in a plant, and me and one of my friends got busted at the third store. I got in big trouble.
In order to get chess watched more, they need to get rid of dress codes, they need to allow trash talk during the games, and someone like magnus or hans neeman needs to just talk mad trash, like a Nate Diaz of chess. They need to create pre game storylines for the players like UFC does so there is something riding on the games more then just the game, the players ego. This will make people watch chess, and bring sponsors and money to it. Also they could create an under 700 rank tournament where the play is just bad, and people at home can play better, and make it funny, cause the games are going to be rediculous, and encourage trash talk especially for the low elo guys.
He is the best commentator, because dani is very likeable, and seems like a normal average guy. Danya and levi are good.
