Hey Gotham — Shawnak here. Just watched the video after a friend sent it to me.
The pre-game story is absolutely wild, but essentially I had a horrible stomach bug and nausea and was retching inside the bathroom for almost 20 minutes. I was having a bad set of tournamens in Europe and dropped a ton of FIDE -> I came back here and played an event, in which your good friend Ostrovisky was playing as well! (I managed to get an outstanding 3.5 points for the win!)
Overall, he is a good player, but we will see if he holds his rating above 2600 and GM strength. Please continue to make content, it's truly awesome and makes my day!

So, I'm not very accomplished in chess, but I do know something about lifting. Chess elo jumps are kinda like increases in your max lifts in lifting. When you first start out you make improvements pretty often, then when you get a coach you make some more jumps, but what you really don't see is essentially what you saw him do which is to be one of the top people on the planet, and make improvements like you are just starting. I was a national level strongman competitor in the US then I managed to pull off what felt like a 1 in a million feat of putting 100 lbs on my deadlift in 12 weeks. This guy is a level beyond that (granted K factor has exaggerated his growth most likely, but even jumping 400 rating points in skill once you are an IM is insane)
