Daniil and Ian were very unprofessional. Yes, the draw looked exactly like an arranged game worthy of a penalty. In Magnus' game against Hikaru nobody would've been affected by the results. That subtle difference shows that chess skills aren't everything.

Why are the Men and Women playing in different sections anyways?😂 there’s a Junior chess tournament in RSA that happens annually and here the Men and Women all battle eachother. This makes no sense. There should be one World champion and the women deserve a chance to battle against/alongside the best male players in world as well.

I suspect that some of the matches are prearranged, especially when Russians face each other, but as long as there is a Russian chess president, there is unlikely to be any change. A new scoring system should be introduced, and the best players should advance to the finals. 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.

Honestly forfeiting the point for the silly draw was a terrible call. It robbed us of a tie breaker match between magnus and Dubov. Acting like it was somehow "disrespectful to the game of chess" is elitist and absurd. Nobody bats an eye if they agreed to a draw before making a move. Nobody bats an eye if they do this stuff online. I feel robbed.
