I Shouldn’t Have Underestimated Him…

This is the recap of round 4 of the chess tournament I’m playing in – Reykjavik Open. In this round I played a 1600 rated player I completely underestimated. Hope you enjoy the video!

I wonder if the reason he offered a draw with a good position is he knows he has the tendency to blunder into a loss under time pressure?? Just a thought… He seems like a really nice guy! Kind of takes you off your guard. I'm sure he's not doing it intentionally, though…
Excellent play to fight back, Anna!

Good luck for your game with Eric! Looking forward to the post game analysis

Good luck in your game against Eric. I hope you give him a run for his money at least. 🙂

Black made several beginner’s moves, his performance is 1550.

    he almost sacrifices the ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK

Lmaooo, Eric Rosen, next match will be goooood.

He’s a man who just loves to play chess :):)

Anna is such a cool kid, and just a marvelous beautiful ambassador of this great game
As for playing Eric, tomorrow, lets just hope she looses with dignity
I saw Eric lose to Magnus, and what a tremendous he gave to lose
Good luck Anna, you're gunna need it kid
Cant wait to watch the game

Never underestimate your opponent, especially when someone dropped in rating. After all even players like Magnus and Hikaru are currently below their peek rating.

At 7:49 you're just very heartwarming.

This is the best game yet. He is a great opponent.

My spontaneous idea is to go Ne2-c1-d3 (after Kb1) – not sure how that would have worked out.

I not only enjoy your analysis and I appreciate your honesty and love of the game. Good luck next round!

Yes, I lost to one 1500 and two 1600:s a couple of months ago. Not great, since I'm 1850-1900 myself. I make one big blunder per game. If only I could reduce my blunders by say 70% and I would perhaps be able to stabilize on 1950 or even just under 2000.

Absolutely loving the Icelandic chess. Your attitude towards fighting chess is great to see. No cheap draws, never surrender, and “you think you can beat me, prove it” energy 👏

GGs! And good luck against Eric. Watch out for his "Oh no my Queen"s!!

Insanely interesting, And! I also like the hidden knowledge you planted in your previous game recap. Since this is how women treat relationships that have gone bad. And so men should also know about this so that they could handle separation better.

i always assume every player is like that anton from ratatouille, i start off saying what would you like sir, he proceeds to say, your heart on a spit, i put my hands near my face shaking and grimacing.

Well done Anna, great to watch these battles. Love watching your videos, your video "The SECRET To Stop Blundering Your Pieces In Chess" vastly improved my chess. Still very new, but enjoying it more and more.

Pia’s the best. She roasts Anna but does it in the nicest way. I’m pretty sure when Anna went nb5 Pia said it was “ambitious” and proceeded to explain for like 10 minutes how it was really not great

04:37 haha your pronunciation of sponge is just precious. Spawnge. It's a bit of a weird spelling, but is pronounced Spunge. Your variation is for sure better though.

I start the video, I see Anna's smile, and it makes me smile. Good stuff.

Where can we look at your mother live reaction? I want to see her analysis.

    Anna,
Tomorrow, you playing Chess><with Eric[{(Who's present Tattoo to ALEXANDRA Hip👉i mean•••>part of person's leg is joined to the trunk?)}]😂😅🤣😘!
    Gbu—Anna Cramling!

I’m excited to see you play against Eric Rosen!

Have to add in case I sounded critical at all.
Anna, Alex and Dina are great role models for girls to get into chess. You 3 are super smart and I hope you all in time will pass your previous highest rating.
    Good Luck!

Congrats Anna and you played a very gracious loser. Respect to him as well.

Eric Rosen is up tomorrow. Should be some good streamer on streamer action.

Is it only the brilliant Dina Belenkaya that's been winning? Anna and Alex not doing as well.
I think Dina has the killer instinct and cool under pressure and higher rated.

Anna and Alex seem to cope less with the pressure. Alex is to hard on herself and Anna. Proud as she is, must be hard living in your parents shadow.
As Pia is a beast in a good way. Love her mum!

Oh god! We're all pulling for you! But I love Eric Rosen too so this will be painful tomorrow. Can't wait to see how you do. Sleep well, prepare your best. He's not to be taken lightly and neither are you. Looking forward to this.

If you are playing Rosen watch out for the Stafford Gambit.

It would be fun to hear after the tournament, an assessment of your current strengths and weaknesses. That breakdown would probably be helpful for people who have trouble systematizing their study.
