In this video, I went to Union Square Park and tried to make my opponent think I was a beginner in chess. His name is Tyrone and is a super nice guy that loves teaching chess! This was all just in good fun, and my opponent took it really well when I told him my real strength.
A chess hustler is just someone that plays chess on the streets for money. Union Square Park is a famous chess hustling NYC park, where hustlers play visitors from all over the world.

I know this is an older video but people in comments balking at the use of the word hustler, people have hustles people have side hustles and chess is their hustle so they are hustlers they call themselves hustlers it isn't a bad word or an insult in it's meaning of an aggressive enterprising go getter. not a swindler and fraudster or that other American meaning… which their may be people there that do try to swindle people but she isn't calling THAT man a swindler by referring to him as a chess hustler. I enjoy the many Chess Hustler videos i also enjoy the few swindler and cheater chess hustler videos

The only person being hustled her is us, the viewer and this guy, Ty. She’s twisting the term hustler here. As Ty (or any of them) if he considers himself a hustler. That’s a particular kind of player and there’s no evidence of that. If and when she ever changes the title of the video to I TRICKED A CHESS PRO INTO BELIEVING I WAS A BEGINNER then we’ll know she gets how wrong this is. What a slimy way for her to make a buck.

I dont think she does a good job of concealing that she knows how to play because she uses terminology and isn't slick with playing the part of a novice.
Maybe you could explain even more clearly that the word "hustler" here does not have the same negative connotations that it does in other contexts. I know you mean him no disrespect, but the word certainly carries negative connotations with it for most people ❤
