I am back competing at otb chess and I’m so excited!! I’m playing Rilton Elo, which is a tournament in Stockholm for people under 2200 and my goal is to win the whole thing ๐ this is the recap of round 9 – hope you enjoy!!

Iยดm sure that this 5th place gets a sweet and bitter taste at the end. Sure, at the start of the tournament, 5th starting as the 8th seed, 7/9 and +20 elo would seem a really good result. But could have been soo easily much better, drawing for the 1st place if the previous game would be a draw instead of a lose…
I hope see much more live tournaments content in 2024. In 2023 we had Iceland. Mallorca, the European by teams in Croatia and this last one. I hope that in 2024 we can see 8 (at least) instead of 4.

Watching Anna and Pia is so fun! It was disappointing seeing Anna choke the draw in the previous game, which cost her a tie for the tournament win. But her enthusiasm is so infectious, and Pia is so wonderful to watch in her commentary. Making chess exciting is an almost impossible task, yet somehow Pia does it! Congratulations Anna for getting back to 2100! Now for 2200.๐ฎ๐

It's kinda amazing that this ammount of work and preparation can only award you 200 bucks. Makes you think who can really pursue a career out of the game and the kind of structure this person has to have behind them. But anyway, really happy for you, Anna, congratulations!
