The Chess World Cup 2023 is a 206-player single-elimination chess tournament that will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 30 July to 24 August 2023.[1] It will be the 10th edition of the Chess World Cup. The top three finishers in the tournament will qualify for the 2024 Candidates Tournament.[2][3]
The tournament will be held in parallel with the Women’s Chess World Cup 2023.

I think what has always been over looked or not appreciate in the chess world. Magnus Carlsen is not only a champion, he is a kind, gentleman and enjoys taken time with fans.
@Agadmator: thank you for the interview link. Say, i think you should mention – perhaps in one of videos tomorrow – that Magnus not only got food poisoning, but worse – was unable to eat anything for 2 days. This could even extend to 3 days without eating for him, tomorrow? This is nuts! Straight crazy! I mean, Magnus is a multi-millionaire, right? And right now he's playing a tournament he really wants to win, right? And given these facts, he got some good poisoning still! How? Why? Ain't there people who make sure he's eating really healthy food while he's playing something really important? Or is it some dirty play by someone real evil, and food poisoning was actually staged and intentional by someone who wants Magnus lose this?
I think this REALLY needs more light on it, really. This is top-level chess and things like bad health – are really important, like in any sport. Perhaps they should postpone tomorrow games? And i think they DEFINITELY should have a good doctor see Magnus and find out if he's actually in any viable shape to actually play top-level chess.
I mean, two days not eating – sounds serious enough, right?
