Kramnik is an awful person. Especially for saying stupid disrespectful things like "being loud means you've done something wrong". Just no class at all.
data analyst here – 20% of my job is explaining how previous iterations of an event are not indicative of future iterations of an event. I can see how this is counter-intuitive to the way that chess players think, because chess is a game where you creatively use your knowledge of past iterations to predict future iterations. you can't outthink statistics with a brilliant move. data is just data. it's not logical, it's not smart, it's just a record of what happened and when – nothing more. you can absolutely use data to test a hypothesis, but when that hypothesis is wrong, it's unscientific to design an experiment with the intent of it being correct. you're supposed to learn that in like 7th grade.
tl;dr – Kramnik is just like every clown in the sales department who thinks they've got it all figured out but they don't

Thanks for the note that Kramnik hasn't graduated from high-school. There is a saying that stupid people don't know that they are stupid. The place where I worked most of my career had most of the people in my building with at least a graduate computer science, math, physics or EE degree. One of the things that educated people know is how little they know. Trying to learn a new knowledge domain is quite difficult and usually requires education and a huge number of hours. When I have a question, I look for an expert. Kramnik is shutting down posts from experts and this seems like something that conspiracy theorists do.

At the end, if you are clean, i think it is a sort of honorable thing to be accused of cheating by a former world champion.
It seems like karma has caught Kramnik in 4K UHD.
Back in the days, his world championship battle against Topalov, Kramnik made too many sus activities like taking shite for as long as 1 hour and he did it far too often at the critical point in the game. He denied the cheating accusation but for some chess enthusiast, he's still viewed as cheater.

I appreciate Hikaru publicly taking it on, and it is hard to know what is true. I do know I have won ten games in a row, on the ICC, I am around expert level. I can recall a South American master in Harvard Square, who I could not win again against. So, be better, could produce unfathomable win streaks, I suppose.

I find it extremely difficult to understand why people would want to choose chess as a career at this stage. If you’re good, you’re accused of cheating and the prize money isn’t nearly lucrative enough. It’s not just Hikaru, many many players have been accused of cheating. If someone beats Djokovic in tennis or Lin Dan in badminton, you praise the player and there’s no question of cheating. If you beat a strong player in chess however, you are immediately suspicious. Think about how insane it sounds that Hikaru of all people is accused of cheating. The risk reward ratio of playing chess professionals isn’t worth it.

Probability and statistics is not a matter of opinion, so sharing probability-based conclusions without showing the actual calculation is unfathomable. Show the calculation you did, and there will be no discussion. Instead of all this "I heard it from scientists", "if you knew how statistics work, you would understand" bs, and useless discussions back and forth.
Disclaimer: I'm a physics PhD and don't understand the basis for kramnik's claims. And i don't care about opinions, these things are easily calculated, the fact that he doesn't show any calculation makes the entire thing moot imo.

Let me get this straight. A world champion from long time ago is jealous that he is not one of the most discussed players in recent time and he decides to create some childish beef at his grown age? Dude it's not that serious
Vlad is right about another thing. Nobody is above criticism. You can always have doubts and ask questions. That's fine.
But the problem here is that his arguments are flimsy at best and he's trying to discredit the 'experts'. It is just a gut feeling from Vlad at this point. And that is kind of weird and wrong too. My gut feeling says Naka doesn't need cheating. So, why would he? It doesn't make sense.
With the Nieman case for example, it was kind of suspicious of him suddenly make such progress and beating Maggie by a large margin. That raises questions.
Naka has some good advice for Vlad. Vlad does need to take a step back and reflect and listen to the counter arguments before he completely ridicules himself.

This is crazy and clearly personal. I know chess players have a difficult time after losing their peak and especially retiring, but Kramnik, even though amazing as a chess player, looks like a horrible person.
Kramnik is a once great player that can no longer compete at the highest level. He simply is trying to blame others for for his own poor performance.
AGAIN de CCCP is back in Russia and they have this new old law to snitch on others with out any basic proof of law. I think he is confusing the rest of the world with this. Maybe its time to leave this man behind and move on as he soon will be getting a medal of honer from de CCCP for snitching.
