Why play the fishing pool trap in the world chess championship?
Why are they playing the world championship with a clock? Isn’t this supposed to be classical chess? I fill that time pressure shouldn’t be a factor here. I get not wanting each game to last days, but at least give them a time increase after each move.

This was the first ever chess match I have ever watched live, and two observations came to me:
1. Cannot thank levy enough for getting me into chess
2. Cannot understand chess without levy explaining it

I feel bad for Ding Liren, its obvious the nerves and the pressure that is holding him back. If that wasnt the case he obviously would have taken the rook, im 2100 and i calculated all possible lines Ian could have tried to get a draw and i found all lines within 3 min. He could have taken 10 min to make sure it worked and still won by taking the rook.
This game is proof openings are overrated
