If all that are brillent move then I played many times in that socking style against my opponent. 🤘🙂

Me who literally found bishop a6 , whoosh may be I have been underestimating my self for whole life

The last guy you expect to be showing you chess moves:

I enjoyed the video but I would not say those are his top 5 moves since I was able to find two of them for myself. A queen sacrifice for a forced mate in a couple of moves is not as good a move as a piece sacrifice for a strong positional advantage which eventually wins the game.

Now this tells me that queens aren't really important…

The move feels like a punch in the face till nose bleeds.
I cant imagine how Magnus opponents feels like

6:01 I think if sergey move bishop to cover check king,he maybe have a chance to check mate carlson king

Bruh a queen sac for a checkmate & championship is like hitting a 3 in a game 7 of the finals for the win

The Greatest Queens sacrifice was made by King Henry VIII

Can you make wesley so's top 5 also.. thanks

A simple puzzle rush tactic like Anastasia's mate is not one of Magnus's 5 most brilliant moves.

in example 4 does rook take g4 have same result of definite check mate?

Waiting for a new version of this video featuring his game against Fedoseev.

grishchuk could have had a fantastic backrank checkmate if he got rid of the rook at h1

Strange huh? We are told to "sacrifice" our lives by our teachers, preachers and politicians all the time,—for the good of the all. Then we sit on the sidelines watching the rest of the game, and get jealous that we took our self out of the game for seemingly nothing, when we knew we did not achieve what we wanted in life, and get mad at those still in the game. When the game is over,—it is over, and all your talent and potential for it will have been sacrificed,—leaving everybody,—nothing left.
You have a natural right to your "self",—do not sacrifice it to anybody. This is not a game.

Why have Americans not dominated in chess very often? Because we don't glorify a stinking King!

Out of the top 100 Grand masters in the world, (not counting those who may have come from rich families), how many top 100 GM's have become rich from the game?
Is it all effort and no gain? My contention is, you have to spend so much time learning how to win at chess,—you never have time to make money learning/doing something that is marketable. I bet a lot of chess GM's died in poverty.

So dangerous and risked if i must lost my king 😭

I just played a game in which i sacrificed my queen and checkmated😄😄😄…i am so happy🥲🤧

Magnus sacrificing queens and gets something good out from it

me : sacrificing my queens and have no idea what to do next

I looked at the thumbnail for that first scenario, and at first, I was thinking why the hell, then I noticed exactly why

I picked all the right moves as a 1400ish player but the key is that we are expecting a huge move with the concept of the video… finding these in a live game, nonetheless while blindfolded, is remarkable

    i did this every game
    just the sacrifice part

Worst ever pieces, king looks like a pretzel

The only difficult one is probably the first one, but the others are easily seen.

How does one have ginger beard but not ginger hair?

whenever i dont know what to move in these grandmaster positions, i look for the most crazy and stupid sacrifices…

    I found 2/5 moves I feel like a gm

4:19 I'm around 900 elo when you average everything out and even I could see the move Qa5. It's a forced checkmate in two moves and the genius of Magnus cannot and will not be stopped

#2 there’s a 2 move sequence that would’ve won black the game still

NO WAY I KNEW WHAT THE FIRST ONE WOULD BE (not just the queen sac but also every move after that)

Love your vids. Your commentary is so funny and enjoyable
