The 2023 FIDE World Chess Championship is a 14-game match taking place in the St. Regis Astana Hotel in Astana, Kazakhstan on April 9-30 between Ian Nepomniachtchi and Ding Liren, who finished 1st and 2nd in the 2022 Candidates Tournament. Reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen has chosen not to defend his title. The first player to reach 7.5 points wins, while a 7:7 tie will be decided by a playoff. The prize fund is €2 million, split 60:40, or 55:45 if it goes to a playoff. No draw offers are allowed until after move 40.

Each player has 120 minutes for 40 moves, then 60 minutes for the next 20, then 15 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment starting only from move 61. A playoff will consist of four 25-minute games, with a 10-second increment from move 1. If still tied, up to two pairs of 5+3 games will be played. If tied again, single 3+2 games are played, with colours reversed each game, until one player wins.

1:10 Nepo is like “just here at the world chess championship with the boys”

    The boys:

If ding ling loses the tournament but he won our hearts ❤️

I'm glad top players are playing it out to the last 2 kings 😀

Either Morphy's defence (in a Ruy Lopez scenario) or a Najdorf Sicilian would be cool to happen tomorrow!

@13:55… I'm not so sure how Nepo blundered a piece?? If anything, it looks like Nepo would be the one having an extra piece or up the exchange…

Nepo is entering “just don’t fuck it up” territory

Ding wins with the London in Game 6 and then doesn't play it in Game 8 or Game 10.

In my opinion the tradition of having someone else make the move only for the player to retract it nearly 100% of the time is a bit strange.

There are 2 obvious options to change this. First being make the player keep the move which doesn't seem like a good idea, but secondly couldn't they just tell the person which move they want to make?

I suppose there may be more to it but every time I see it I just think its kind of lame

Oooo boy Magnus is a beast he scattered Nepo Last year like Nepo isn't even a super grandmaster, Nepo should thank Magnus in advance for d opportunity he got to become world champion by not defending the title.
The game is not over but he is leading by 2 points and is not easy to close d gap

I think Agadmator forget to put the right PGN,instead he uploaded the PGN from previous Game.

Thumbnail is very cool ! 👏😃
Ian be like : hey, bhagwaan ! Bas aaj kay exam mey paas karaa deynaa ! Blunder-vlunder sambhaal leynaa ! Black pieces sey kheyl rahaa hu, mujhpar thodaa toh reyhem karnaa ! 🙏😦
Ding be like : arey, yaar ! Saarey kay saarey out of syllabus questions ! 😐🤦‍♂️

thanks for not show the top comment that usually spoiler.

ALWAYS ..BUT NOT ALWAYS. FACTS SPOKEN BY THE AGADMATOR.

I thought you will comment on the news that Ding did not get to meet Rapport after this match. Is there a chance that he feels his preparation leaks through that angle? Just curious

World Chess Championship Match 2023 ! Without the world champion Magnus Carlsen! No one really cares unless its Magnus playing.

Why Nepo always wearing pink shirt and Ding white?

    Nepo: capture the pawn..
    Agadmator: Hello everyone….

5 1/2 – 4 1/2 with 4 regular games to go. Hope we get a result in classical that decides the title without going to quicker games.

What’s on preparation leak ? , is it same .?

Ding needs to borrow Rapport's salmon coloured suit jacket for the next game lol

i haven’t checked the comments yet. i sure hope there are 1000 comments about agadmator being speedy

Kind of disappointed for Ding this kind of Game happens a lot in Chess players just exchange pieces neither has a distinct advantage wasnt much pawn advantage in this game I think the only way to avoid a game like this happening is to try to hold onto your pieces and not allow so many trade offs

For all you 900 elo rated players, that endgame was a draw, and not a blunder by Ding.

Do you need a lot of patience to become world champion?

the thinkers find obstacles the dumb creat them except in chess every body find and creat a masterpiece

I am not polished in my endgame stuff, I assume there is a standard line where Black forces White into giving a stalemate or giving up the pawn in zugzwang?

Agand is like a machine with his videos start "hello every one " you made our day each time thank you sir

Keeps the rook ,keeps the pawn…but gets checkmates🤣🤣🤣

Just a point of accuracy: the moves to the game should start with c4, not e4.
Great video, as usual! Thank you for making it possible to enjoy these games without having to watch the real life time-span and with the added benefit of what could have happened on the board.

Agad is obviously trying to speak Ian's surname as fast as he can, video after video. Right now it sounds like "neponchi". Wonder whats next 😂😂😂

I wonder if they’ll get Borat to make a first move

A draw due to insufficient material is pretty rare. Usually the grandmasters declare a draw well in advance and Agadmator explains why both players declared a draw. I like how they played the game out until the very end.

I also feel Ding is not yet all settled in

Still pretending the jab was designed for good are we?
