I find it hard to focus on the board with the new layout design. Not very thoughtful usage of color and lighting!
Small mistake at the beginning.This is not the English Defence but the English Opening. The English Defence or Owen's defence as it is also called,is 1. …b6. 🙂
The mostly white outlines is more appeasing to the eyes cause chess is usually colored black and white as well. A neon layout would overexpose the eyes and doesn’t really fit with the chess board. So I like this mixed layout as opposed to the neon outlines.
I, for one, like the new design/layout. I think just a little bit of fixing (like with the font for the quotes) will make it better; its nice to see a change. I particularly liked some colour around the camera. would suggest, and hope, to see some variations in background colour as well, like for legendary games you can try a golden background instead of the black (of this video)

For rooks on the 7th rank I like the term "blind pig" better than "pig." The damage a blind pig can do just makes more sense to me.
@adgmator, the old design was perfect, not like the new one

After rook captures on a3 @7:53– why not queen sac on a3, then bishop captures queen, rook a1 captures bishop? The black queen on f7 has to move out of the way otherwise bishop h3 to e6 can trap her- then white takes bishop a3. I'm sure I'm missing something- that is just what I saw.
The main difference between this interface and the old one is that the new one is sharper. Goes for font and images

New layout looks a little too Cyberpunk to me but it's not terrible. It would indeed be nice to see a more polished oak look for classical, but you do you.

That pawn to f4 by black was definitely a blunder. Cost him the game. Amazing how a not so complicated move could be the most dangerous move to make.
why play the english defense as white? You have an a priori move in mind?
This layout needs a lot of adjustments … it's not coherent … fonts are too boxed in and seem out of place and it overall just feels too flashy and bright … try to make it subtle and calming … that's your channels basic vibe

Like ofcourse I love the old look better, we were used to it. This one's not bad either. Just remove the while highlight that is present on the time format. It seems quite distracting and bright. Mobile user issue I guess.
