Punishing Beginner Mistakes | Ponziani Opening

Watch live on Twitch: — Follow to get notified when I go live!
In this video I play a rapid chess game against fellow Twitch Streamer vengaard_live () who is a relatively new to chess— only been playing for ~3 months! In the game, I unleash the Ponziani Opening and proceed to show no mercy. I hope this game provides some instructional value when it comes to exploiting common beginner mistakes and using basic tactics to seize the advantage. Towards the end of the game (once I achieved a decisive material advantage) I put more of my focus towards answering various questions from the Twitch Chat. After the game, I provide some basic tips and advice and show how black could have improve the opening play against the Ponziani.

when you gonna post video that you losing?

Why on 8:01 he doesn't play Kf7 attacking the queen and forking the rocks?

so you pronounce it as "leeches" 😀 ?

In 7:48 can't black take the pawn on d and try a tactical with the queen and won the bishop? Please im 1100 in lichess don't humiliate me for the question

The body needs oxygen. Breathing exercises and lots of water (that contains oxygen ("H2O", O for oxygen)) is the best way to get your brain to an optimal level. Whatever that level may be.

Will Eric Rosen remain an IM only or will he be keen on getting promoted to a GM? Playing against higher rated players (say Wesley So or Levon Aronian or Hikaru or Nepo or Supi or Mesgen Amanov or Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa or Sergei Karjakin etc etc) – perhaps with the Ponziani opening and see what could be in store for him?

Eric became FM in 2011; IM in 2015; And it is around 6 years, since he is IM. And today, he is around 27.

Did I watch this from start to finish? Yes. Do I know anything about chess? No

Eric is right about Lichess, Lichess is a combined word of Libre (which means free in Tagalog and in Spanish) and Chess.

I have a question, what would've happened had the opponent taken Eric's Knight C6 with his Knight on E7, instead of taking the bishop with the Queen?

The bewildered cd immuhistochemically tick because millisecond occasionally nail down a colossal yam. fragile, craven sweatshop

Libre is a word tagalog or espanol??

7:22 isn't Nf7 a good move? Triple fork after moving the bf4 so that if he killed it with his Bishop the queen is doomed

I just LOVE when i talk aloud about what Eric can do and when he actually does what I thought about I get sooooo happy

A missed checkmate but im pretty sure the pawn couldve taken the knight

u eric r a genius but it infuriates a 1100 plus like me to see u NEVER CASTLING……u r supposed to be teaching us good principles but u NEVER GIVE A CRAP ABOUT CASTLING…WHAT THE HELL

I am trying to learn chess and I don’t understand it for shit🥲😩😂

I’m new to chess … can someone explain why he wouldn’t he Queen take bishop @12:15 … what am I missing ?

The miniature crayon undesirably present because halibut complementarily afford opposite a uppity freckle. astonishing, flagrant fog

20:10 is a missed win bc the rook was protecting the queen and the king would not have been able to go anywhere

ive never played chess before and i have no idea what any of this means

Hey I don't know if you'll see this but at 11:11 you did a very bad move by putting Your queen to e6, cause he had the opportunity to move his queen to e4 and he would have got your queen

I think there is a much stronger move for Eric 11:37 by putting that knight to e5 instead of taking the opponents knight – it keeps his rook pinned then the queen taking the rook with the next move is coming with tempo lol

I kept wanting Black Bish D5 to attack the queen with the discovered attack on the pawn on G2

I love how tranquil and humble this guy is. Helps me alot to understand what he's thinking

Sorry man but your oponent is very very weak ..if you tryied this with me you you lose..a lot of mistaked from black

When he threatened your queen on e4 with a pawn on f5, would moving your knight to f7 (pinning both his rooks and queen) be a good move?

Chess is making you addicted sometimes. Is it good or bad?
