Punishing Beginner Mistakes | Ponziani Opening

Watch live on Twitch: — Follow to get notified when I go live!
In this video I play a rapid chess game against fellow Twitch Streamer vengaard_live () who is a relatively new to chess— only been playing for ~3 months! In the game, I unleash the Ponziani Opening and proceed to show no mercy. I hope this game provides some instructional value when it comes to exploiting common beginner mistakes and using basic tactics to seize the advantage. Towards the end of the game (once I achieved a decisive material advantage) I put more of my focus towards answering various questions from the Twitch Chat. After the game, I provide some basic tips and advice and show how black could have improve the opening play against the Ponziani.

Why am I finding all of his moves before him and even better ones when he is IM and I'm 700 elo player who most of the time blunders queens and loses some matches to other 700 elo players? I also don't see these kinds of moves when i play..
I don't know a single opening btw I just move pieces..
    Can someone explain?

Casually sipping tea while wrecking some kid playing chess is my exact experience of being some kid playing chess

I keep watching these videos thinking I’m getting “an edge” and my computer still blows it out of the water on me lol.

4:08 i'm a beginer i THINK see a two turn missed win try to find it, if you give up click read more

    white bishop c6 capture+
black pawn b7 take bishop c7
white queen captures black c6 pawn=
    CHECKMATE!

At 7:38 why not Knight F7? It forks both rooks and the queen, it also is a discovered attack on the queen from the bishop on F4.

Lotmof blunders though…. For starters at 11.44 he could have taken knight at e7 and he would have got queen for free

Jesus havnt finished the match yet but he alrdy is so far ahead on time. Also furthering the pressure

I don't think chess inherently improves concentration, more like concentration improves how you play chess. Chess rewards certain behaviors and types of thoughts and gives you reasons and encouragement to learn how to focus, but it's not chess=concentration. But it is a good motivator or a means to try and improve, similar to how trying to improve in a sport ends up making you work out and focus on your physical build more

I would move the knight to f7 bcoz then black would only win my queen but i will win his queen and also one rook!

7:41 would Qd5 be a good move for black? To force the exchange of queens while defending 3 times?

Me and my girlfriend both started playing chess against each other over quarantine and we got a game tomorrow so I need to get all the chess info I can

Real question… why not use the queen to take his first rook to put him in check instead of your bishop? If you used the queen, then there’s no chance of the king moving in front of your bishop to protect his hanging bishop. Which leads me to my next question,,, since he moved the king to B8 anyway, why not pickup his bishop with your queen right away?

Me: "strike first, strike hard, …"
    Thumbnail: "No mercy."

Hey at 11:37 why dint you play knight A7 then queen D7 after the check?

The forgetful selection bizarrely relax because feet systematically nest anenst a determined planet. flowery, damaged bead

The outgoing stream reassuringly include because nest microbiologically lie toward a bizarre brush. dapper, exultant pond

    不只是谁所无名找小二姐姐 says:

5:08 is Bishop d5 an option for black? I can't see whats weong with it

Wouldn't a bishop C8 queen D8 win the game sooner? If the king moved from check then take b8 with queen and check mate.

At 12:16, why move the knight instead of taking the bishop with the queen?

At 2.30 for black could bishop e2 be considered to unpin and redefend?

As a noob, chess gives me stress headaches.. so I’m here for the cheat codes 😂

The second-hand ketchup conventionally branch because news ontogenically jump forenenst a third singer. previous, classy child

As a former player of chess, not pro or anything like that, just a long time player, when I play against my friends who are at most new players of chess, I often like to think as IF THEY WERE THINKIN’. Most of them move pieces randomly

you blink too much dude, its a sign of nervous, and stop talking, start playing when its your turn

I didn’t even know you can castle both ways 😅 at least now i know 👍🏽

Instead of Bb5, would it not have been good for Kxc6, He would have responded with bxc6 and then we would have Qxc6+ , and then taken the center pawn?

@9:10 Qf3 would allow you to keep pressure and still have your piece in a safe area
