00:49 Game Starts!

World Chess Champion Ding Liren returns for the 86th edition of the Tata Steel Masters, a 14-player single round-robin taking place from 13-28 January in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands.

The time control is 100 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move from move 1. A tie for first place will be decided by two blitz (3+2) games. If still tied, the players keep playing single “sudden death” games where White gets 2.5 minutes and Black 3 minutes until one side wins. The monetary prizes will be shared evenly. Official website:

Pragg is such a brilliant player my fav from the younger indian bunch that came through.

Pragg rating is climbing into mid 27s. The best man won again.

Pragg, Indias #1 player is one of the great stars of the future. I see Vincent Kaymer and Daniil Dubov as two of his main rivals.

Someone ask Kramnik what are the chances of Prag winning against Ding in the same tournament, same round, same color

Legends say that when the first ever chess match happened in the B4 era, after White went 1. e4, a faint voice from the future was heard saying:

"It is as of move 1 that we have a completely new game"

Something tells me the next world champion title match will be resolved in classical section, and very quickly.

so called "World champion" is losing in a poor way 🙂

I believe if Prag becomes world champion, then Magnus may be motivated to play the world cup again.

Did someone say Déjà vu?? 👂

When the pandemic ended, i stopped frequenting this channel. But im proud to say that i was an early Pragg bandwagoner and its great to see my hopes and suspicions about him(as well as Sarin) come true. Hes a formidable, champion level player.

Why Pragg win with black pieces is special— White on average beats Black in 55 percent of them (Elo ratings of 2100 or above), but for elite players (Elo ratings of 2700 or above), the winning percentage is 64 percent.

A lot like a game I’m playing vs an IM his ELO is 2300 mines a measley 1188 but it came down to two knights vs two knights and pawns now it’s knight vs knight and pawns he’s probably going to pull a Pragg on me but I did ok considering

Praggu and the rest of these younger players sent magnus into hiding LOL

Pragg too strong! hopefully Ding doesn't let this loss effect him for the rest of the tournament

    Alright heres my wild theory
Magnus is hoping hikaru will win the world championship off of ding, so that afterwards magnus can come back, defeat hikaru, take the title back, and psychologically and emotionally obliterate hikaru. And why? Mostly for the memes but also magnus seems to enjoy expressing his dominance over big hickey in an almost sadistic way. Im rooting for this future

Win a pawn, trade queens and grind the end game.
Seems like a gm strategy to beat less experienced players but getting better of a World Champ is something else.

6:58…that's usually the point at which my bad decisions kick in.

Praggnanandhaa clearly knows about b4 being the best move. Even world champions have room to improve.

wasn 't worth showing this game. I didn 't like it at all

Bro this channel rules!!!! Thanks Antonio 🔥🔥🔥

What he didn't ask me to pause the video

#suggestion Wei Yi just played an insane game versus Parham. That game was really entertaining, especially when he made a brave move within 1 minute. Please cover that exciting game.

If the world champion loses with both the Italian and the Ruy Lopez with white, those are not good opening. Time to go back to Hippo.(JK)

These kind of games are reminders that there is no one like Magnus

And yes I know Pragg has beaten him before, but such imprecision is so unlikely from Magnus; he’s missed from Wijk and as the classical world champion

Fabi is probably my favourite to be world champion now with his current form

didn't know Pragg beat Magnus in classical. Did that really happen? When?

Prag's name is worth like 150 points in Scrabble

Praggs style reminds of someone aka THE GOAT of chess

This is one of the most simplest games I've watched. Nothing extraordinary happened. It was just a positional masterclass.

Ding's horse dance in this game reminded me of game 2 from the Ding/Nepo World Championship, when Ding inexplicably moved his Bishop 3 times losing 3 tempi and, subsequently, the game.

I think out of all the Indian youngsters, Pragg is the most mentally strong player. When other youngsters fumble to face a player like Magnus Carlsen, Pragg faces him without fear. That’s the difference. Yes, he lost the World Cup to Magnus but who wouldn’t? But Pragg’s tenacity is incredible.

Pragg got that dawg in him! 🐕

no one cares that Ding is the world champion

    Pragg beats Ding
    1 – 17th Jan 2023 with Black
    2 – 17th Jan 2024 with Black

Watched it live. Congrats to Prag. Waiting for Candidates

He already proved that he's worth india's richest man sponsoring him
