You are correct Levy you must offend people at least a little. Platitudes don't create engagement. Everyone standing around nodding all thinking and saying the same thing aren't engaged. That just isn't how the human mind works. We need some sort of imbalance, some discomfort to create a need so that we'll have motivation to do an action. This is why people who hated Howard Stern actually tuned in longer then those that loved him. Sure hearing everything you agree with makes you feel good but eventually that feeling wears off, while a person constantly challenging you (but not so much that you have a meltdown) can keep you focused for practically forever.
