Watching the match live and at times just recaps. I became somewhat of a fan of Ding Liren. What about that super computer tho? Are the so succssfull to be able to afford that? already wealthy? some state sponsor?

Simply the greatest comeback someone can talk about. I felt even more satisfied with his victory when I remember that, in another yt video regarding Ding's trouble during the match, I commented something like "I'm still confident he can win". Ppl started arguing about how it'd be from tough to impossible for that to happen, talking about ELO difference, pressure, experience and this and that. With his victory proving those people wrong, Ding Liren's world championship journey became an inspiration story for me I never thought I'd witness, specially during the time when I've never been more interested in the game ever.

Edit: I feel the recap was a bit rushed. Like he didn't show when Ding made a comeback by winning 3 games in a row in the candidates. I mean, we all wouldn't have minded 30 mins or more of a video explaining Ding's journey(sorry for the bad English btw)

Ding's story is so inspiring that it completely transcends the chess community; in the past few days, I've had several friends come up to me and be like "You're into chess, right? Have you heard about Ding Liren?" People that don't even know how the pieces move are absolutely stunned by this story. That's just insane

He powered through each tournament, and against all odds, a miracle happened.

The odds mounted against him and the fact that he struggled greatly and persevered to the last minute is absolutely inspiring. Truly a phenomenal player and anyone who says he isn’t world champion because Magnus is better is ignorant. Ding is goated for this and will go down in history

The whole story would be better if we found out that Ian was secretly a terrible guy, like he was close with Putin and involved Ukraine but kept it hidden. By all accounts he's a perfectly lovely person, but in the movie version, he's clearly the villian.
