Norway Chess is a 10-player round-robin featuring Top 5 stars Magnus Carlsen, Alireza Firouzja and Hikaru Nakamura taking place in Stavanger, Norway from 30 May to 9 June. Each of the 9 rounds consists of a classical game where a win is worth 2 points and a loss 0. If the players draw they play an Armageddon game, where the winner earns 1.5 points and the loser 1 point. No draw offers are allowed before move 30.
The 3+2 blitz opener takes place on Monday 29th and will give the winners the chance to pick their pairing numbers for the main event. The classical time control is 2 hours for all moves, with a 10-second increment per move only after move 40. For Armageddon White (the same player who had White in the classical game) has 10 minutes to Black’s 7, with a 1-second increment from move 41. Black wins if the game ends in a draw. A tie for 1st place will be decided by two 3+2 blitz games followed, if necessary, by a 5 vs. 4-minute Armageddon game. Official website: norwaychess.no

Actually, after Fabi's Qf8 move, there was a way for Alireza to have played against that, that would have been more advantageous but he missed it
Great game by Fabi!…He did great moderating the WC matches. This game shows how you need to pick your openings and is a nice French Defense lesson.
Fabi started this tournament with 2764, as world no 9. And, after 4 just rounds, he has gained 24 points and is already world no 2.

7:00 Qd8 seems like quite a counterplay for Alireza… Fabi's e pawn will fall (or his bishop) and the white queen reenters the game on the e file sustaining the queening of the d pawn and threatening nasty checks…

I hate to know the result in advance so I suggest you fit the photo of both of the contendes in the left half. Other than that I think you're the best chess commentator and I enjoy your through analysis and showing up different variations.

Alireza's strategy is to play dubious moves with one rebuttal and pray his opponent makes a mistake. All the wins recently probably inflated his confidence against Fabificano.
