So I happen to teach this age (born 2015) and we've done a few hours of chess (for some of them) weekly for maybe half a year now? And to me it's crazy how an 8 year old can beat a 1500 rated player let alone a GM…

Stories like these inspire me and give me hope for our future. I was once in a tournament back when I was rated around 2000 and I was absolutely destroyed by a 9 year old asian boy. It was a brilliant battle and I gave him all I could but he made it look so easy. I was so impressed and thanked him. Kids are incredible.
