I lolled when you said "But of course we all know that Carlsen doesn't believe in fortresses"

Magnus didn't believe in fortress when it comes to endgame. But if it's no time limits against a formidable opponent, one day he will

Mistake by vincent .. else, draw was there

Most games i saw with Magnus playing, its like his oponents do a silly mistake, not that Magnus overplays them, but rather overwaits, idk. Seems they lose a few 100 elo when facing Magnus)

It's just arrogance to not resign against Magnus, expecting him to make a blunder. Magnus is an undisputed goat.

nice game, Magnus had to work for it, although for us it must seem harder than what it did to Magnus…!

2nd: I believe Wesley is still the classical WFRCC while Hikaru is just the rapid WFRCC.

    Q1

Why weren't the 'slow rapid' games in the 2019 wfrcc considered classical when they are 60min games and the minimum for classical is 60min?

    Q2

Why are the 2022 WFRCC games considered 'slow rapid', as in the same category for the 2019 wfrcc 60min games, when they are actually 32.5min games?

    What I understand is

    (0,10) = Blitz

    [10,60) = rapid

[60,120) = classical but unrated if so and so conditions

    [120,infinity) = classical

    P.S.

Pablo Mercado: So what is your advice to the Filipino chess players?

Uncle Bobby Fischer: Filipino – My advice is to give up chess and take up Fischer Random.

    – 2004Oct11, 15 years before nephew Wesley So became the inaugural WFRCC in CLASSICAL time controls.

    Also

Hikaru's (the rapid WFRCC) wife almost beat Wesley So's (the classical WFRCC) girlfriend!

2023 USCC – Indeed Carissa Yip won and thanked Wesley So as her secret second in the 2023 USCC closing ceremony speech.

But in Carissa vs Atousa, Carissa was losing most of the game. Atousa just blundered in the end.

move 54 for black is an 8-move equality puzzle

    it's so sharp

Vincent's knight fork was an obvious blunder, but his position was already weak. It's hard to spot why beforehand. I had to watch from the start again.

The first game where I actually immediately found the correct move for the win 🙂

I'd like it if play continued until mate was on the board.

can someone smarter than me explain why at 8:07 the white knight doesn't take the black rook, and then after bishop takes rook on a1, white can push E4 to allow their knight back into the game?

Feel free to pause the video and punish young keymer's insolence 😂😂😂😂

    Terrible game for Keymer
Imagine being a piece down against Magnus and he has infinite time😢😭

The Benoni used to be called, disparagingly, The Baloney. Apparently, it has been rehabilitated.

Magnus still has got his magic it seems.

I looked at this benoni line as well. It's… uh, it's one of those things Magnus makes look good but in my hands it would be a disaster. It's not very good to begin with, black's win rate in it is pretty awful in comparison to other alternatives (still in the Benoni), and it looks hard to play in general.

Funny how these workers couldn't simply say no and quit

Magnus seems to struggle against Vincent… Vincent seems mentally stronger where most people would waiver… I've seen Magnus try and fail multiple times to break him. Although of course when push comes to shove in clutch situations like in the world cup Magnus comes out on top. Usually they draw in situations where Magnus would normally win. I mean this game is a bad example haha but apart from this one that's what I've noticed.

I heard Carlsen played a Benoni against Rapport as well in the same day Suggestion # Magnus Carlsen vs Richard Rapport Grenke

I love when agad mentions the insolence of a young player. 😆 🤣 😂 😹

Knights are, for a lack of a better word, tricky bastards.

2600 rated and blundering like that is just shame omg it wasnt even blitz

You know what a little issue is that i always encountered with you, and i think many viewers also ? 2:45 you said, instead vincent takes with the bishop. But you lost me already there like always – sometimes its not clear when you show an idea or what the last move was from the players before you show an idea. So you just said 'instead Vincent takes with the bishop, but i dont remember what the last move was from magnus after you explaining the idea. I always encountered this with you. Much love ❤

Drowning slowly , very slowly …

Pretty neat to see the World #1 selecting the Benko vs 2740 opposition.

Magnus is a master of end game, and can squeeze water from stones 🔥

    Insolence = insultingly in conduct

    Strong verbiage.

If only I was in the library last night instead of the bar I would have been able to solve todays pause the video and win the game puzzle😂😂

-> I'm one of the people that brings a rook in if people don't resign. Hahaha

It's always that one pawn that will make the difference in the end. The 2 free pawns sacrificed by Keymer without any compensation payed the way for his defeat

Don’t understand why Keymer didn’t play Qc4 immediately instead of the lame g3 .

Mr. Hoodie Guy not only plays some of the most interesting chess games in history (and often loses), he supports the most interesting chess channel on YouTube. What a guy! Thank you, sir! 🍻

I love Agadmator speaks like, will punish him for his insolence. 😅 And promote to a Queen or even a rook to harass your opponent for not resigning earlier.I could identify with that. I do that regularly. It's like come on ,you have to resign already, so I just promote to a rook.!

Nd5 is better as it traps the knight on a8 as well

Wish I could be so strong and bring a rook in the game just so I can harass my not cool opponenta 🥺

I would have played Queen c6 instead of Pawn to g3……………………………………………………………………………………………..

Magnus capturing Keymer’s light squared Bishop preventing castling rights for Vincent was tough than losing both his pawns instead of defending with his knight the beginning of the end that’s a tough opening I can see where Vincent had some advantage at first maybe he should taken the b5 pawn while he had a chance with his knight Good Game Thanks Agadmator
