This video makes me sad even now after his definitive victory! 🙁 Such a heartbreaking clip!!

Who's here after Ding won the World Championship???

    Alternative title:
    "ding chilling 🥶🥶🥶"

ding collapsed here. nepo collapsed the rest of the match. ding never lost again

Wow, just 12 days later and he becomes the World Champion, making history and inspiring us all! It's a powerful reminder that no matter how hard life knocks us down, we have the strength to rise up even stronger 💪🏆🌟

Looking back at this…the final result of the match is so much more impressive

This is totally out of context, but is it just me, or what is going on win Naroditskys eyes at 2:00?

2:02 Removing the commentary for a bit and adding intense music is amazing editing

His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready to drop bombs
But he keeps on forgetting what he wrote down, the whole crowd goes so loud
He's trying to wow, but the moves won't come out
He's choking how, everybody's joking now
The clock's run out, time's up, over, blaow

Can someone tell me whats the music at the background?

🤣i feel sorry for my man ding but tanya's crazy eyes had me lmao

Anish literally walked away. It was painful to watch. Can't imagine the pain Ding felt.

If only the announcers could have just silenced themselves for even 10 seconds to take in the significance of the moment. Not every second needs to be filled with constant chatter. Goodness. We KNOW (as viewers) he needs to make a move. We KNOW he's running out of time, we KNOW he's under 4 minutes. We see everything you see. No need to excessively dramatize every second with nonsense chatter.

For anyone wondering about the music, it is "Here to Fight – Roman P". Cheers!

"Ding broke". That is a racist statement considering Ding is Made in China.

i never thought i would cry cause of chess match, but the whole situation, such an important game seeing such a sensitive, kind human being as he looks like, bein frozen and suffering, while commentators trying to make him move with their words, even though they cannot doin anything. This short moment of empathy towards such a sweet soul was sad but also kinda touching. It broke my heart 🙁 But Ian went through a similar situation against Magnus so he truly deserves to win <3

His face showed the level of stress and sheer confusion he was in. I hope he recovers from this and comes back stronger.

After this if Ding wins this, its worthy of a movie.

This why when Grandmasters break from chess for a few months or years they come back so strong. They realize it's just a game, that life exists outside of 64 squares and it's not that serious even if you lose, so they play more relaxed.

He probably had other things on his mind vying for his attention that had nothing to do with chess.

In the after the game interview, he just explained how every move he thought of could be readily refuted. Thus, he couldn't find a way to make a good move, and make progress; while Nepo had a very secure K and good attacking chances with many of his responses. It wasn't an emotional problem – just a very difficult chess position.

This is why Magnus is way ahead than the rest… He simply is a master in classical… Would have ripped apart Nepo in that position… Feels so much for Ding… Such a guy..!!!

Actually there is a perfect explanation. At the press conference Ding said that he thought his position was worse. He even used the word "hopeless" at one moment. As Fabiano Caruana pointed out he was not worse, nor the computer considered his position worse. Probably his time trouble compounded his panic and belief. Let's not forget that he had only one pawn for the exchange initially then none. He must have thought that he cannot afford to miss any chance of concretely saving the position. It was not just about making moves for the sake of moving.

So what were the 9 moves that gives him time and still not losing?

Frozen and trying to find the way to the last minute is different things at my opinion.

9 moves under 4 minutes but there is this one variable named Nepo who will do quite "good" moves between every move of those nine.

When he finds the correct move:
    “Ding ding ding!”

Unbelievable moments in WC!! We're so fortunate to witness such historical moment that may not be repeated for a very very long time.

However this WC ends, I have to say that Ian and Ding are my favorite human beings among the top players. Both super nice and respectful, focused but human, and still among the top 5 in the World.
