A heart wrenching loss for Ding. I hope he'll recover from it soon and bounce back. Nevertheless kudos to Nepo.

You are frozen when you heart's not open.

Meanwhile, Magnus going all in with pocket deuces..

Was obviously a painful way to end but I dk why the consensus is “he can’t recover from this”. Ppl freeze under pressure all the time, it’s not like this was supernatural. He’s come back from losing a game twice in this match already and as bad as this looked It still only counts as one loss.

Then Ding doesn't deserve to be world champion

Also, consider that Nepo ended with like 5 mins on the clock, that match was intense.

Dude, am I the only one tripping over Danya’s crazy eyes??? Lol had to rewatch a few times

the second-hand stress is palpable in the faces of the commentators…I could just imagine what Ding is going through at that time

His brain didn't stop working. His brain went into overdrive and he was trying to run all the possibilities at once.

It’s sad because he made a comment about how he spent all of his time in the rest area and he felt proud of himself because now he can at least play without crumbling

He’s trying his absolute best and I really want to see the guy succeed. This is 100% mentality and it’s sad to see somebody not be able to utilize their skills

Watched this game live… It was totally unexpected from Ding succumbing to the severe time pressure.

Anish saying ding.exe has stopped working is gold 💀

Bollywood screenwriters: "write that down, write that down !!!"

Good for Nepo. After Maurice Ashley disrespected him 2 years ago against magnus .

When it was down to 1:15 I was on the Manhattan uptown M train yelling "just f-ing MOVE!” into my phone watching the lichess broadcast. Apologies to my fellow passengers 🥲

Looks like Tania is rooting for Ding liren being Asian

This channel seems biased towards Ding.
When he wins they mention how he won, when Nepo wins, they still mention Ding and how he "froze'

The impression I got was that Ding thought he was losing and was looking for a way out of that position. Also, didn't help that Nepo (knowing he was the one who wasn't in a good position) who is usually so expressive didn't show it, he just calmly paced.

Anish is obviously more knowledgeable about high-stakes chess matches than I am, but I don't feel like Ding "froze" or "collapsed" – the position was just so complicated, he was just trying to calculate everything and not make a mistake, hoping to blitz out the remaining moves once the position was more clear. Not good time management, but he was certainly aware of the situation.

This WC has already been more dramatic than the previous 3 combined.

I'm in my 60s and used to play competitive chess from the age of 15 to 25. I used to get into time pressure frequently during my career in weekend swisses, this was before the age of digital clocks. Some clocks were notorious for being unpredictable – do you have 5 seconds or 50 seconds left? And increments were still just an idea. MODERN PLAYERS ARE WIMPS WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE TIME PRESSURE.

    Ding fight him self..
He think what happen if i win and how to win…
    2 different case.
Ive been there, its so fvk up

This commentary is absolute garbage. How many times can you repeat the same thing over and over again. We understood the situation he’s in after the first 20 times, jesus christ.

Chess world is so unprofessional yet takes itself so serious, it’s pathetic

Anish Giri: When your brain says , I am out of here…😮

Damn!!! That's some deep experience .

I started off rooting for Nepo, but the longer this championship goes on the more I root for Ding

This is what geniuses are like when it comes to these things..the tension , the pressure and the responsibility🥲🥲

I initially was rooting for Nepo but the more games they play the more I sort of empathise with Ding and now I honestly hope he recovers from this, he just looks so human compared to Nepo and the others, it's fascinating

1:58 WHAT is happening to Daniel Naroditskys eyes right here? WTF

What a match!!! Sometimes this happens. Let's see if he can bounce back!

This was painful to watch live huhuhu. Hope Liren recovers from this.

Even Nepo had a look on his face like “dude are you good?”

Chess is a very tough game. Something like this also happened to Magnus.

Anish is a most gifted and sensitive commentator
