IDK why people are saying that D.Liren "doesn't belong here" ~ when Carlsen decided not to defend, everyone followed the rules and we're left with the #2 and #3 ranked players in the world competing

This kind of moment reminds me how good a WCC needs to be.

He could have just made some quiet moves to reach 40 but was looking for the right move … 🙁

Great game again. Time is part of the game in the end.

I honestly think Hikaru/Nepo wcc would have been much more solid.Hikaru played some good classical chess winning back to back tournaments and finishing almost second in the candidates

I actually want to thank Magnus for giving us a more interesting competition. Let some others suffer, said Magnus.

This FWC is EVERYTHING BUT BORING!!! Well played for both players.

they were saying with a minute of time he wouldn't physically be able to move the pieces fast enough? Moving the pieces would take 2 seconds to move and write it down only

I don’t know who said it but at this point it’s showing, not enough preparation from Ding’s side. His comebacks show that he has potential to crush and give a good game but he crumbles again. I hope je recovers, still would like for him to win but let’s see

People saying flagging, the position is nowhere lost for white what are you talking about?😂

Unbelievable to watch this happen. He must be so mentally exhausted after such an intense first 6 games. Also just goes to show how resilient Nepo has been after Ding's relentless fighting.

I think this is where Nepo's previous experience plays a significant role. He's been there before. Ding is carrying the world on his shoulders in a way. Last night i spoke to a strong player in our club (not a GM but quite strong). He said it helps a great deal if one can focus only on the game itself, disconnecting from all externalities, and that the psychological dimension is a big factor. Its more easily said than done and esp. when so much rides on the games result.

You will come back Ding, I believe in you.

Can someone clarify why Ding had 9 moves left? (700 elo here)

This match is starting to look as if by design to make chess more interesting for wider audience 😂

No one played French Defence in a World Championship since 1978. The fact that Ding managed to turn the game around into a favourable position before that blunder due to time pressure speaks a lot about his ingenuity nevertheless.

Anish is such a sensible commentator here, respect

Great commentary! They should be in a studio together and this would have added more drama.

2:05 the inner fall, whoever put music to this part deserves a raise, try it with headphones.

"It happens, I have seen it. It happens to people they frizee. He is frozen. It happens sometimes " Anish Giri 2023

I dnt understand why he played such a risky committal move H4 in such a time tense scenario.

even 1600s can c Be5 s d safe move. He got completely blank it seems under time and WC pressure. Its like stage fear where u go completely blank

I'm support Ian but this was sad to watch, feel bad for the guy

This reminded me of Anand's "Make a move" match commentary. Unfortunately for Ding, it wasn't a happy ending for him.

jeez, so much drama in dis WC . Looks like first time normal human participating this event, before this every 1 were super human

immitations made in china always break when it matters

Not a good couple of days for Dings… first Junhui loses in the snooker World Championships and now this. Ouch.

Just imagine being in Ding's shoes for those 4 minutes

let's go Nepo! with love and hope from Russia.

Sorry for Ding….but c'mon Nepo, it's time to convert this psychological edge and wrap up the title! NO MORE SLIP-UPS!!

Such a beautiful and real game . I really appreciate these both guys. Fingers crossed for tommorow's Ding disposition i really hope that He'll be back and win the title.

chess has no business being this exciting lol. already can't believe what happened last game, and now this!

I'm quite confident at this point that ding will bounce back and most probably make good performance the next game.

    Champions are made under pressure

I’m rooting for ding and he freezes????? U can’t do that bro (if I was in his position I would shit myself)
