Not to worry – we all know that Ding will win the next game, because apparently that's just how this match works.

Been following chess now for about 20 years. Never have I seen so many wins/losses between super GMs like this in classical or any format for that matter.

Watching this made me feel the anxiety and the sadness I felt while watching this live. So heartbreaking. I love Ding and this game makes my support for him even greater. I hope he will recover from this.
This doesn't look like a World Championship. This kind of flip flops has never happened in World Championship history. Almost all the games have been like this that one of the player suddenly malfunctioned. They both are obviously great players ranked second and third but these guys really lack consistency and I feel that's the reason Magnus stopped playing World Championships.
Ding and I would be an unstoppable team. He knows how to play chess, I know how to read a clock.
He was clearly tense,stressed,during this time due to time pressure..I'm sure he will recover on the next game

Sometimes I play against asians at chess tournments, their parents get mad with their sons when they blunder. I beat these young guys, because they are nervous, and then they resign and cry. Their parents shout and scream over their kids "Why did you lose? Are you stupid?" I don't say anything but I speak to myself starring these asian parents "Well, I also know how to play chess" lol It's sad… I wonder if Ding instead think on chess lines, his mind was full of parents and coach voices screaming "I will kill you, if you don't win the title I will kill you".

Nepo last year collapsed this time he will be better shape world championship is more of psychology than skill set as mostly top level players are close to level .this world championship is very unpredictable crazy swinging both ways almost every match there is result still half way mark lot of twists turns possible
