The Russian record for the most popular chess game was made in Novorossiysk
On September 17, a landmark event took place for Novorossiysk: the city was included in the Russian Book of Records for the most massive collective game of chess. About 240 people fought in the duel.
Two teams played on the Forum Square — “White Angel” led by international master Elizaveta Bronnikova and “Dark Knight”, captained by the famous grandmaster Mikhail Panarin.
The leaders selected the three best candidate moves and handed them over to assistants (Sofia Guseva and Kirill Morar), who sent them to their teams for voting in the messenger. Within 30 seconds, the squads had to make a choice, after which the captain made the move that scored the most votes.
