The biggest tour in chess all comes down to this. The top eight players from this year’s Champions Chess Tour have traveled to Toronto for the LIVE Finals to determine the 2023 champion! The final week of competition features chess legends Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura, fan favorites Fabiano Caruana, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Wesley So, as well as young superstars Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Alireza Firouzja, and Denis Lazavik!

I hate how Hikaru is not looking for a win at all. He's constantly aiming to draw. That's that mindset that cost him the game against Nordibek. 7:20:19 . I hate Hikaru's playstyle. He's so drawish. He used to outsmart his opponent and have brilliancies, now he's only hoping to draw against his fellow grandmasters. Considering that he held the title of best Blitz and one of the best in rapid. He's fallen way too off. As a fan I'm disappointed.ππ

This format is great and made it possible for me to binge watch chess again. Eliminating the most frustrating element in chess, the majority of games ending in a draw, was a solid move from the creators of this format.
Nodirbek is slowlly but steadily becoming one of my favourite chess players. He's clinical like a surgeon.

The production is actually so good. The music, the transitions, the camera sweeps, the interviews β it makes the stream very engaging. Chess producers are really putting forward a great product.

Its fine that they travelled to Toranto for finals, but how exactly playing it on board will help chess grow as an esport ! I think they should have travelled there but it should have still be on pc rather than boards. I find playing online and playing on board hugely different experience. I love playing online as thats how i learned chess while on board i make the kind of mistakes I'll never make online, so to see a huge advertiser of online chess organising their finals on board feels so weird. Makes me feel no matter how much chess grows online, in the end players will have to prove themselves on board which i consider a different game entirely where the players who learned it and practice on board will have some advantage. This just feels like danny is accepting the inferiority of online chess to board chess. Come on, man, it really hurts
I just want to tell to everyone in the comment section of this video, that after this tournament there can't be people that still think Hikaru is cheating and what I've got to say to the ones that still think he is cheating is that….
You're so funny for not taking into account the fact that he's literally playing against 7 of the best players in 2023. Some of which are former world champions, some of which are future world champions.
Fun fact: Hikaru is playing against SUPER GM'S and is still playing WAY MORE ACCURATELY than he's usually playing online.
He's not having his best tournament, but you have to take into account that he's playing against players like Alireza, Magnus and Fabi, who are literally the best of the best.
Hikaru is still playing at a level of VERY STRONG SUPER GM. There's no universe in which winning these games would be as easy as winning 2300 OTB rated players online.
Kramnik's calculations are biased and wrong. Kramnik was talking about Hikaru's performance rating being 3600. NEWS FLASH; chesscom ratings don't actually represent anyone's OTB rating and the chesscom players Hikaru was farming are probably like 500 ELO lower than he is OTB.
I'm 1600 OTB myself – 2000 on chesscom and I'm sorry. If I play against a 1500-1600 rated player on chesscom or an 1100 OTB, I'm winning ATLEAST 14/15 games.
That one loss will also probably be a dumb blunder like blundering a minor piece to a dumb tactic anyone can see. Hikaru will win even more frequently than I will because he's a GM and he will not blunder any minor pieces like I do sometimes. The difference between 500 ELO will grow exponentially. That's just the facts of the chess world.
Hikaru have speed better than Magnus and this is the Key to winning Magnus
