Magnus Carlsen has his own will and is not afraid to criticize FIDE. For that reason, if it were him there, I don't think he would walk out of this ceremony, I think he would skip out… because he would be so happy to leave. I honestly feel for both players here. Half the ceremony, if not more was in a language half the world (and at least 1 of the 2 players) can't understand. Same with the traditional clothing… they did this to Argentina and Messi in Football World Cup final too, it ruined an iconic picture. In my unimportant opinion, you can mention a bit about your culture and the host country, but this was just too much… it felt like this was a ceremony for the host country and not the players! Congrats to the players anyway, with all the decisive results this has been a super interesting event!

FIDE urgently need someone to help them with their ceremonies. It's not the first time they have such an embarrassing ceremony in really big tournaments. Congratulations Ding! 🇨🇳
The huge "LOW-RES" screen in the back is incredibly distracting, tacky, and EXTREMELY bad for filming. A Projection based lighting system is far superior and easy on the eyes/filming. But it's only a small country. Oh well.
