hikaru farming lower rated players for content, so.. big win streaks obv., Carlsen and Caruana do not do that they mostly play higher rated player and title tuesday stuff. and Carlsen often drunk and troll opening.

Hikaru’s performance estimated to be infinity just because he won 50 games in a row is ridiculous lol. Like okay regarding the 45.5 streak, if he didnt play the game that he drew would that be infinitively good too? The mathematicians are proving nothing but their superficial knowledge about the game of chess.

Couple things I don’t understand from what Kramnik is saying: 1 how do you get an infinite elo? Just because he didn’t lose? So if I win 3 games in a row did I perform at an infinite elo? 2 how is he not taking into account Hikarus accuracy? Most of the games looked to be in the 80s which definitely isn’t a 3600+ performance and not indicitative of cheating. 3 has he looked at how many times hikaru won on time in a losing/drawn position? I’m guessing a lot just because he has so much experience and speed with a mouse, which definitely isn’t from cheating. Plus the psychological effect everyone has already talked about. I’m not even that big of a hikaru fan but this seems like such a stretch of an accusation
Wlad's almost manic perception of "truth" is a bit worrying.
On the upside, this whole discussion will most likely lead to more sophisticated understanding of statistics and data, that could be used to better detect cheating in the future.
So the cause of Mr. Kramnik's effort to investigate "interesting" data is respectable, but putting an infinity sign into a statistic table shows his understanding of that matter is "strangly biased".
Anyway, overall this whole drama is benefitial for almost everyone included, just for content.
Bullying someone about their name to discredit them is in really poor taste.

I find it very important to note that Hikaru plays a lot of 3+0. Idk the exact stats for Magnus and Alireza, but you can't just look at their blitz games if they play less 3+0.
I wonder what proportion of games were won by resignation. Or won on time or by checkmate. I suspect people resign earlier against Hikaru, than against other players. A factor?

Thanks for mentioning Danya up there too. It's fascinating because he is a middle-of-the-pack grandmaster in most time controls but put him in 1+0 or 3+0 and he is dominant. Not quite Hikaru, but well, WELL above his other time control ratings.

Honestly, all this blaming is ridiculous. Would it be "interesting" from Kramnik point of view if he will make 100-0 streak against me (1200 elo)? Would it be "interesting" if Magnus will make 100-0 streak against 1500 elo starting without a pawn? I guess not. The issue that Hikaru's advantage against anyone with minus 300-400 elo from him is huge. What is average probability for someone ~2700 to win a game against Hikaru: 3%, 5% maybe 10%? What I'm trying to say that the level of players is not equal.
The most hilarious part to me is that you could pose this probability question to any reasonably competent high schooler and they could solve it analytically. It's basically a typical first course in probability type question "if you flip a coin 5000 times what's the probability that a sequence of 45 heads appears at some point in the sequence"

My Theory:
The thing is.. Russian Government is paying Kramnik for this so that Hikaru's performances degrade by involving in these controversies..
They want Ian to be the World Champion and the only thing that stands between Him and that Title is Hikaru. ( because Magnus is not playing and Hikaru's strength has increased significantly in the past year)
Poor Kramnik. Remember when he was a World Chess Champion and was good at chess, Pepperidge Farms remembers

I mean the biggest point that I don't see people bring up is that Hikaru is just too busy talking about all his plans and analyzing every piece of the position in graphic detail at every second to be able to also focus on cheating. And the understanding of the position that he exhibits can't be reasonably relayed to him by someone else in real-time. The claim that he's cheating is just a total joke on its face.
Hikaru is getting moves relayed from Hikaru. If you or I did that, it would be cheating, but Hikaru allowed to get away with it somehow.

To be fair to Kramnik, the online version of Hikaru is litterally the best chess player ever. The Hikary playing over the board is barely a top 10 GM.
