I've always wondered why people cheat online. It's stupid. They're not winning money or trophies or anything. They don't even win bragging rights, because if they brag they get caught and are banned. So, why cheat if they don't get anything out of it?

How do people cheat in bullet chess?? It takes time to input your opponent's moves in the analysis board. Most can cheat at 5 min blitz

Given a chance to play against a super GM online why would someone use a computer, I don't think the guy was cheating. If ever he used an engine I can't imagine how he did it that fast.

With you super GM’s, how can anybody cheat as you guys can out play the chess bots / computers? I just do not see cheating as a factor at your level. Great for attracting subs I guess.

A rule of thumb I use, if they are playing worse than me (and I'm only in the 900s) but all of a sudden after getting a losing position play the end and or middle game perfectly there are probably cheating or sandbagging. A key note in the early game is Bishops moves where they just leave the bishop in one spot for a long time on seemingly a non-move but it comes back later to remove a square leading to checkmate. Now at the GM level like Hikaru this level of ability is expected, but in the 800-1000s?? Come on now, if they were genuinely that good on a consistent basis they'd be nowhere near 900.
