I don't like the sliding of the pieces. The ground is obviously not a single flat surface and yet the pawns slide as if it was. And the knights are facing sideways? Why?

Suggestion: so whenever a piece moves, the sides of the squares it moves through will glow up with fire. The color of the fire will be the same as the color of the top of the kings and queens of the respective sides, so red fire for black and blue fire for white
the explosion at last was too much…..the king should just have shattered…..rest looks sick i watched it 10 times

Bowling alley strike animations be like:
bro got the color scheme slightly wrong, a1 is supposed to be a white square, and so the king and queen are on the wrong colors

I am glad you did not call it a game, because so many 3D animators call it a 'game', which is just not true.
It is a animation of the recreation you made.
Making a game is way more complexer than just making this kind of animations and the work put into it.
Imagine we cab play chess with these animations
It was all super good till the queen flew and exploded the king which made it a bit too much and unrealistic cuz floating and exploding is not a part of the chess game soul which made off for me
What about making a full game with already created assets?
Not gonna destroy the fun but isn't playing chess irl the first RTX game humans played?
