A Hikaru Nakamura who had before covid only qualified once in his life for the candidates has now qualified for TWO IN A ROW! He's talked a lot about how much better his mental fortitude has gotten in chess since he realized he can make a living off of streaming instead of relying on the raw results to survive, and he's been proving it again and again

It might actually be kind of funny if chess fans were like American Football or Soccer fans. I imagine a rowdy and possibly somewhat inebriated group of Naka fans, crashing the candidates with signs, H-bomb towels, and facepaint. Arbiters would be like "No we can't let you bring in the airhorns and vuvuzelas, absolutely not. No more beer for you guys either. And you, old man, put your shirt back on, WTH."
