I wonder this entitled a bit annoying.."Magnus is out, ding is new champion"..Magnus is just don't want to defending his title that's all..and we all as the Chess fans around the world including GM,WGM ext was excepted his decision..of cause Magnus had a reason for that and he still love more this sport more than yours
Always magnus Carlsen ❤❤❤
I still want hikaru to go back to playing for champion, you’re basically one of the best players skill wise
Whatever.. It's like trying to pretend that Michael Jordan wasn't the best basketball player in the world in his day.. We can all pretend, but that doesn't change reality.
opportunity in rapid is more understanding because you don't have all that time to think, like Hikaru said. I feel for him.
GM Ding Liren seems like an awsome person, I hope somehow he blows up personality-wise and becomes as engaging as GMPinappleShirt over here. Thus far it seem like its only Magnus thats thats trying… the rest of the Gms are closed up behind this chess universe like those PhD science lecturers that dry everthing into academics and make science not interesting.
We can say Ding is the World Champion because of the Russia-Ukraine War
This was your best shot at a WCC imo. I think you smoke Ian.
*Casually putting a racist joke on the thumbnail
Instead of ding lirean its dingchilling
magnus is a better chess player, and he is better looking, and he is funnier, there is no contest
bro i saw the thumbnail n just thought DING chilling hahaha
Ding Chilling
That match meant nothing. MC is clearly the best player in the world and everyone knows it.
hikaru that pineapple light makes your room look so yellow lol
I feel like Hikaru is happy because magnoos is no longer the title holder 😅😂
no such thing as position or hopex or etc, ceuxa,x do, be, cna od, be nay nmw and ay s perfx
to see gothem chess levy explaining the game comparing hikaru is like 6 years child and adult .kevy says a lot "i don't know why ding to that or this while hikaru sees everything and the explanation is more deep and more education
With his opponent having doubled his time, Ding with only 1 minute 23 seconds decides to play for a win. This guy got some balls.
5:42 both just spent 1 hour 39 minutes on first move
I disagree that Ian was a favourite in blitz. Right, he has devastating result against Ding in the past, but it`s past, modern times have shown that Ding is extremally strong in short time formats, which was proven when he lost to you in a match by a single point. Ding seems to be the third strongest blitz player on earth nowadays, of cours after some famous Norwegian and you.
Hikaru after trying hundreds years to be tha champ:
MagNus iS ouT 😂😂
Cheaeaaaap
Did Hikaru play with ding ? Any recap?
Sad ian lost
That Bye! Made my day…
My favorite part was when Nepo had a nervous breakdown and his hand shook and he dropped all the pieces LMAO that was great and hilarious! I'll never forget that!
I felt so emotional with this endgame I could not hold my tears. Ian trembling and dropping pieces was griefing.
.
what the hell ive seen that bishop sac while watching the game and i thought it might be wrong i was right all along lmao
Am I the only one that found the start of the video so funny?
Ding's story has so much twists and turns it should be made into a movie. I think it will be a great movie if, in 2 years time, Magnus came out and challenge Ding, and Ding went on to win.
That would be some story to tell.
awesome!!!! ':)
Ralph Lauren's nephew Ding is so talented!
Ding is WC and won fairly BUT his rating is 2789 … Carlsen has not been rated below 2800 for 13 years, he has never in his life been lower rated than Ding and his lifetime record against Ding is 39 wins to 21 losses .. Dings tournament record is much weaker than Carlsen's .. these are just facts Ding needs to face and beat Carlsen in a match … Ding is indeed a great player BUT again he never comes up as a contender for the greatest player ever were as Carlsen is a serious candidate.
Great review, thank you 🏆
Nepo feeling pretty dinged up right now ♟️♟️
How much money did China spend in buying the trophy???? It is well known to what level China can fall. This world championship was very abnormal, and magnus also suspiciously decided not to play the world championship. I hope trust comes out.
After final against Ding, Nepo become a hippo!!
God tier thumbnail…
If Nakamura had just held that Round 14 game against Ding, he might be world champion now. He does actually have a winning record against Nepo.
The King is hiding! Long live the King!
Hikaru said pushing P, he’s valid
This Hikaru is quite toxic
Ok, so Ding is world champion cause he won that last game by luck. Nepo could have won just as easily. And either way, whether Ding or Nepo won, everyone knows that Magnus is the best in the world regardless of who is world champion. What's the point of having a world champion title if the person with the title is NOT the best in the world?
At 15:16 When Ian played Bd2, in the live podcast, the eval bar dropped after about 10 seconds only if I remember correctly so I presumed it was a deep move that the commentators didn't have time to see it. With this evaluation, I saw was instant. But anyway, was that a blunder? It was not because of Nf4 as the eval bar says… so must have been something else.
At 23:53 I just don't understand… Qf4 by Ding can't be the only move since if Ding plays c3 you don't have 24:09 h4 because Ding can go Qg4 and trade again… or? My point is that let's say Ian now realizes he needs a draw… what was the move that he missed? Is it really Qf4?
I didn't understand the problem with pining the rook while on the live broadcast. Why was Ding in any problem? Is not like the rook on g6 wants to make a move immediately. The logic behind unpinning is that Ding's Queen should go on B1 – H7 diagonal and control the pin. The evaluation bar at the end was clearly under pressure for Ian only. He is the one that has to make the computer's best moves to keep it there. Ding has no pressure. He has the pawns, he just has to play normally and wait for Ian to make an imprecision.
So the point of Qf5 was to stop h5 by Ding but Ding has h5 because his Queen is at E2.
The way I see where Ian was mistaken in his chain of thoughts was that the Qf5 to stop h5 shouldn't be a thing anymore so his focus should have been on the D4 pawn, so the whole initial idea with h4 shouldn't have been a thing. Ding's rook at the g6 pin is not an issue… he got fixated on that. I think is logical… when you realize you have to make perfect moves to make a draw, you have to focus on the side where you need the draw on and that's Queen's side. If you give tempo to Black, by moving on King's side, there is no draw at some point. I don't understand why the Rg6 pin was an issue since there was h5 or Qg4 possible for Ding to respond (not to mention Qd3 that was played. Your focus should be to take A and C pawns with your 3 pieces or trade something. Even Qe4 I think it was taken out of the equation by Ian because of the Bishop ping but I don't get it.. is not like Bishop has to go somewhere. Qe4 or Qf4 to keep the pressure on those A and C pawns should have been the focus. I am trying to find Ian's logic for the attack instead of going for a draw.
At 25:53 the intuitive move would be Qd6. The only reason for Qb1+ would be to go back to Qg6 since you can't keep the Black Queen on B1 with your pawns still far away (that move would be good for later on) but that gives white a tempo.
At 28:50 I think Qb3 (Qc3 can be met with a2) would have worked better to ping Ding's Bishop at A3 – F8 diagonal.
Anyway sensational. Congrats Ding and Rapport.
Yooo cill with the tumbnail
Hikaru when you make World Champion don’t forget about us😢
Instead of nepo qf5, what should have he played?
that thumbnail 💀 kinda racist
wrg, no quiet etc, no goox etc about it
