The 2023 FIDE World Chess Championship is a 14-game match taking place in the St. Regis Astana Hotel in Astana, Kazakhstan on April 9-30 between Ian Nepomniachtchi and Ding Liren, who finished 1st and 2nd in the 2022 Candidates Tournament. Reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen has chosen not to defend his title. The first player to reach 7.5 points wins, while a 7:7 tie will be decided by a playoff. The prize fund is €2 million, split 60:40, or 55:45 if it goes to a playoff. No draw offers are allowed until after move 40.

Each player has 120 minutes for 40 moves, then 60 minutes for the next 20, then 15 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment starting only from move 61. A playoff will consist of four 25-minute games, with a 10-second increment from move 1. If still tied, up to two pairs of 5+3 games will be played. If tied again, single 3+2 games are played, with colours reversed each game, until one player wins.

I like it that you first mention the move that was played, before going into the variations.

I don't understand why Ding allowed this..when the opportunity to trade everything and let this thing fizzle into a draw he doesn't..the rook on a1 does nothing instead of bringing it to support the center he doesn't!his bishop is bad why not trade it immediately?? towards the end taking the pawn on g5 was pure emotional..it's hard to support someone who does that.

The guy who made the first move is Harry Maguire. The best of the best in terms of defending🤣🤣

A salute to the guy who graciously donated 69,69 dollors,

Suggestion: Please add Time of the players to your videos.. it will make it very interesting

"You really have to give the engine plenty of time here… Now you go find it." Hmmm.

The king move to block all the escape sauqres to get a mating net is a glorious glorious move 😮

I like the change of camera angle, good to keep it spicy Agad!

Unfortunately (for him) Ding never entered this game. His bishop didn't play for the whole game, and his rook was useless for a long time too. Ding played only to defend since the beginning and Nepo had a kind of easy win.

So, a win without any serious mistake or blunder from the opposite side? That's quite unusual

I didn't expect to hear that, "if you let the engine crush the numbers it will find the move nepo played" 😂, and you want us to find it "while you give us couple of seconds" 🤣🤣

Watch out for Game 6…it crutial for this WCC.

Two colossal players. Nothing but fire and more fire!!!!

Game 5 really shook everyone up. Agadmator and Levys camera set up proves it

Fun fact: Nepo's name Nepomniachtchi or Непомнящий in Bulgarian alphabet literally means "who doesn't remember". Ne Pomnia means "I don't remember". I find it ridiculous that he is a chess player. I don't know if the words have similar meaning in Russian.

It's amazing how Magnus Carlsen can just walk away from at least $800K for the loser or $1.3M for the winner. Dude is rich. Thanks to his sacrifice we can enjoy these nice chess battles.

Who can tell me what GMs or other players are in Nepo’s corner?

Carlsen – Caruana was so much better quality than this match

Nice setup in the new angle. Looks like a first.

Luisón también nos dijo que no abandonemos y hagamos a nuestro oponente trabajar XD
    Aguante Luisón

Your lighting in this vid was really good. It's good most of the time, but it really was noticeably good in this one.

    Agadmator: Hello everyone

It's insane to me while watching these games live just how little time Nepo uses. It seems like he's always up 30-60 minutes on the clock and he's STILL finding engine moves faster than the commentators who actually have the engines.

didn't you guys knew that's a clone they took out of Ivanchuk and Wesley So?

Kindly also show the poison in the position. That how one wrong move which looks nice to average rated players can blunder the game

I miss the emoticon pillows… Maybe this is my OCD speaking but I lost my concentration a lot due to the new background… 🥴🥴🥴

The thumbnail looks like nepo is stroking Ding's face

    Game 6 will deliver.
    Game 6 always deliver @agadmator

i dare to say that this world championship is better in terms of fighting chess then every other world championship so far

world championship is becoming more and more interesting i couldnt blame Ding because of poor play i give credit to Nepo this time. Well played

I seriously miss magnus ..he's really leauges ahead …of his contemporaries…
