It's so sad when a small accident completely unrelated to the game itself like a mouse slip costs you the entire game
The mouse slips are def a downside to online chess, but not only does it give you the capability to play anyone in the world (at any time), but it also gives the opportunity for pre-moves (for better or worse). People complaining that online chess ruins the integrity of the game probably can’t grasp the fact that there’s both positives and negatives.
There's a common prejudice (which I've sometimes been guilty of holding myself) that early queen exchanges lead to boring, dry simplified positions where both sides have to be very patient and not a lot happens for a long time. That first game was a classic counterexample: strategically and tactically complex and the white king came under fire at times despite the queens coming off as early as move 4.

Woowwww, that's kinda messed up. Online chess needs a custom keyboard, or maybe a standardized (depending on tournament rules?) set of macros. Key combinations to define (1) what piece to move and (2) where to move it. It probably exists, but it's got to be better than trying to drag pieces across the board with a mouse in .00000001 sec.
