World Chess Champion Ding Liren returns for the 86th edition of the Tata Steel Masters, a 14-player single round-robin taking place from 13-28 January in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands.
The time control is 100 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move from move 1. A tie for first place will be decided by two blitz (3+2) games. If still tied, the players keep playing single “sudden death” games where White gets 2.5 minutes and Black 3 minutes until one side wins. The monetary prizes will be shared evenly. Official website:

I don't think Jorden deserved the praise you showered him with, regarding getting rid of the c3 pawn weakness. He got rid of it by advancing it, and that actually led to his king getting totally exposed, his whole king side became accessible to black. Which eventually led to the pawn promotion threat.
