World Chess Champion Ding Liren returns for the 86th edition of the Tata Steel Masters, a 14-player single round-robin taking place from 13-28 January in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands.
The time control is 100 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move from move 1. A tie for first place will be decided by two blitz (3+2) games. If still tied, the players keep playing single “sudden death” games where White gets 2.5 minutes and Black 3 minutes until one side wins. The monetary prizes will be shared evenly. Official website:

Prag is a monster. He can beat any player in this world. My only problem with him is that he's not consistent enough. He always gets 2 or 3rd place in tournaments where he can easily beat any player in the world. But his game is growing day by day. He will have a huge say in the candidate. Be ready ding he is coming for the world champion's title.

Pawn f4 in end game doesn't make any sense. I am a 2200 player i found Ne3 immediately.
I love games with crazy attacks in the middlegame, complicated positions, tactics..
Games which get decided in the endgame being one pawn up are not that much fun to play or watch.

Today I defended same endgame knight vs knight+2extra pawn at 1240 elo in 10 min rapid😂 but left side of the board, offcourse Me and my opponent played blunder blunder game
Prag is incredibly talented. But, amongst the Indian youngsters, I will still root for Gukesh to become the world champ one day. Candidates 2024 is going to be really interesting.

I say that Ding knew he won. At the point before his "inaccuracy" where b4 should have been played.
It was Dings game by virtue of checkers. Prag had his pawn structure broken.
He is too young and probably would have been crushed if Ding played on with his eyes closed and sent Prag packing.
Ding will not be so gentle come time to defend his title.
