Man. Ding is such a good guy but that hand shake/fumble from Ian omg. 😢 teared up a bit that was heartbreaking. To be fair Ian is the clear favorite in blitz which would have been the next time control. He had at least 7 or 8 chances to draw that last game but I guess he wasn't expecting ding to go all in on that game like he did. Assuming ding did that because he knew his chances of beating Ian in blitz were low

I presume this implies that Nepomniachtchi didn’t look at Ding’s leaked preparation. Kudos to him for being honorable on that.

Oh man the path Ding followed in order to win a spot in candidates to win the world championship deserves a movie literally all planets aligned for him this time well played!

This was incredibly emotional. How wonderful for Ding and how heartbreaking for Ian. Wish both could've won tbh

All the congrats to Ding. This was definitely a roller-coaster of a match. I doubt this is the last we see of Ian in the discussion. Chief among his tasks will be taming those bad habits of his. Do that and I can see him even taking it away from Ding. For Ding, bask in the moment and enjoy the triumph. Best of luck!

Me emocionó mucho ver esos segundos, gracias

I saw Ian's hands tremble live, it was heartbreaking the first time, Its heartbreaking everytime I watch, but I am very happy for Ding because I was rooting for him, and that's competition for you guys, both were gladiators, Victory comes at someone's loss, cherish it and be thankful for it.

    Alhamdulillahi Rabbilaalameen!!

Humble and well deserved winner Ding Liren. Its a shame for him that there is the carlson shadow over this world championchip and people will remember that he actually did not beat the best player on the planet.

"wait… I'll have to defend next year… aaaaaAAAAAAA"

Man chess can really be a wicked game. I'm just learning how to play and I swear to god it's exhausting.

I was rooting for Nepo the entire match, really disappointed he has lost. However, congrats to Ding. He really deserves the title, especially after that move Rg6 with a minute on his clock. That was an incredible match!

Even tho I wanted to Ding to win I feel so bad for Ian

Ding- "It was a very emotional moment. i cannot control my feelings, and i know myself, i will cry, i will burst into tears"

    Also Ding 😁😁😁

When Ian looked out into the crowd it’s like he was looking for his mom for help.

The last minutes of the game (from Ding's move Rg6) felt to me like a guillotine drop… A sudden the-end-of-everything, a virtual death. Never experienced such thing in sports before.

The only similar moment was on the 123rd minute of the recent World Cup final when Kolo Muani could make it 4-3 for France. Five seconds that almost buried everything. There I was rooting for Argentina.

Here I was rooting for Ian.

My applauds to Mr. Ding, this little modest Braveman.

Ding just needs to beat Magnus to prove his worth. He may be world champ, but he is not the best in the world. Not by a mile.

Nepo fumbling the pieces just made me so sad for him.

What a wonderful match between two great players. And Ian, what class!

The real world championship would happen between Carlsen and Ding but this never materialised.

    الف مبروك يا بطل 🥰🥰🥰

    9,134,347.88 Renminbi in the bank….😂

Dings graciousness at the end. Holding off eye contact when he knew he had him. Class act.

This title means nothing without magnus contesting the title

This is the best show with the highest adrenaline pumped at last moment. Chessorgasm at its highest climax.

This clip has the close up of Ian’s shaky fingers.

One thing was clear, Ian wasn't to be world champion, nobody demerites his two candidates in a row but when he was there, at the important moment, his nerves abdused him, even though he faced a weaker player and his previous experence againt Magnus, he made the same mistakes like that match n. 6 againt Magnus, it's a very tough moment for him right now but it's the reality

Nepo had this many times during this match…a few rushed moves and great defence from Ding was his undoing.

I really thought Nepo would win, even before the tiebreaker games. The years he had put in down the drain two years in a row. I hope he bounces back.

Ding earned his win. He constantly went a bit beyond what was entirely safe and, at last, was rewarded.

    chess is cool.
    hello to everyone from Russia.

I heard that chess can be most brutal game/sport. It might be true….

    Congratulations Ding Liren, well deserved!

Maybe I'm exagerating, but I think this match is one of the besth things that could have happened to chess. What a dramatic final.

Never seen Ian braking down like this .. hands shaking . Extremely shaken ..Unfortunate for him .. kudos to him to come back in press conference with heavy loss in shoulder . .. I don’t know if he will ever get a better chance than this .. respect .

I can appreciate how less toxic the chess community is when I see comments cheering for Ding and seeing Ian's attempts to hold his emotions.
