    Еркебулан Абильбахит says:

Whoever won the title, in press conference they should say: "Thank you, Magnus".

One of Nepo's mistake is that he didn't try to eliminate the pass pawn on "a" file earlier in the game. It came to bite him.

bro Ian's reaction literally broke my heart eventho i wasnt really cheering for any of them

What an undeserved win… Nepo is so clearly the better chess player, yet by unlucky circumstance loses in one rapid game with too much time trouble. Ding wasn't even supposed to play, yet by unlucky circumstance secured himself a spot as one of the candidates. My terrible grievance and condolences go to Nepomniachtchi… What a dingus match.

I was watching the live stream, I was rooting for Ding, but it was heartbreaking watching Nepo moving and droping the pieces at the side in disbelief.
Lets remember that Nepo is consistently winning the candidates every year! So sad losing the championship once again.

Ding Liren is from my hometown in China. He is also our hero in my hometown now.

Ding's g6 is the equivalent to Leonidas calling upon his spartans to dine in hell.

"Is Ding Liren playing for the win?!!"
This is a tiebreaker for a world championship, of course he is.

Ding still calculating the press conference after the game

I knew a video with this background music is coming

Ding: I cannot control my emotions
    Also ding: 😐

Glückwunsch an Liren Ding!!! Klasse gespielt – natürlich auch an Nepo!

I was rooting for Ding but really feel for Ian. That feeling of your dreams slipping through your fingers is palpable.

Incredible….So happy for him, well played nepo as well.

Ding LiRen circumstances became a WC champion like a well written drams of Hollywood script. Congrat Ding for a new World Chess champion.

I feel that Nepo was from the beginning trying to pretend that he didn't care, but in the end he showed how important this world championship was for him.

Shaking hand of Nepo, the pieces going down, and a victory of Ding who had to recover 3 times in this match…
We have a new, so humble World Chess Campion – Ding Liren!

"And I want to thank Magnus Carlsen for giving me this award." – Ding Chilling 🥶

Chess must progress, it was sad to watch the winner of this fantastic match crying all alone for so long. It doesn't give a very good image of this sport. Anyway, what an amazing battle today between two huge champions.

I feel so bad for nepo!! He deserved to win!!!! :((((

IDK about Chess but I did watch the whole match and still don't understand how it play, somehow I enjoy watching an unexpected Ding Liren won the title on 1 minute of the last rapid game game on 1 move no one think Ding should play for the win.

Sad that there is a huge asterisk looming over this world championship since Magnus is by far considered the strongest player in the world. Like Usain Bolt being disqualified in 2011 for a false start and everyone in the world know he would have won.

I was supporting Ding till game 12, when I saw Ian's emotional in that game I started to support him. Yeah it really is so hard for him. Him with shaking hands absolutely cruel moment. But at the end of the day the better one became champion, so big congratulations to Ding to be the first Chinese player to become the world champion. Wish Ding to be like Anand for his country and wish Ian to come back stronger.

I hope Ian remembers that what he did is still a huge achievement.

Congratz to Ding!! Nepo's shaking looked pretty crazy, I hope he's alright he mus devastated 🙏🏽

Well deserved, Ding, and poor Nepo.

it must be very hard for ian after losing the same championship for the second time in a row , i feel very sorry for him on both personal level & chess . congratulations for Ding Liren he won the GOLD against all odds the man has truly iron nerves & stamina & most of all he is really really such a good Person.

Ding really clutched up on that game

I'm happy for Ding, congrats to him🥰❤
I feel so bad for Nepo tho, his hands were shaking so much and fumbling with pieces, even knocking them over a little. Can't imagine the pressure he must have felt🥺 I hope he feels better soon.

How I wished GM Daniel was there to commentate that emotional moment

That sudden realization setting in for ian that the world championship has slipped from his hands from a intially drawish situation was extremely sad to witness live especially when his hands started shaking. He was expecting it to go to the blitz rounds and was no way prepared for these turn of events! Still both players fought till the end!🎉 Congratz to Ding!🎉

Still weird af that the classical championship is decided based on… rapid chess. Makes no sense.

he shouldn't even be in that game.. but still he became the World Champion Amazing..

Dont forget, Ding wasnt even supposed to play in the Candidates, but got the spot when Karjakin got DQ'd. Then his prep got leaked. And he still won. What a legend

that is chess. There can only be one winner. It was an absolute brutal slugfest and ding came out on top.
