Levy scrapping the toupee was a brilliant move

I recently played four brilliant moves in a row with my computer opponent.

Unfortunately, those moves were very well-known theory.

I just love the examples levy gives 😂😂😂

I'm pretty positive that low level players are awarded brilliant moves more than high level players because I get them constantly.

last game brilliant move maybe defends the knight (a1) if you want to bring him back to action

i was playing the emir bot a few minutes ago, and i got a brilliant move in it and i won the game easily
(i suck at chess and i was expected rated 1200)

I'm 900 and my brilliant yesterday was a really obvious bishop sacrifice to win a queen. (Which i missed for 3 moves) so i really dont know how thats a brilliant for me and not a blunder for him…

Quick question: why is 5:16 an unstoppable check-mate? Couldn't black play rook G8 to avoid it? Please be kind I'm only a 700 player

This could be a new series: Brilliant or Blunder?

The first one is awesome !!! Congrats to the owner 🙂

i will never forget what happened 2 weeks ago and i was playing Martin for fun and when the game ended and I went to game review i saw that Martin had 2 brilliant moves.
    Proof is at:Scorer #0844

Bro I'm 520 elo and none of my opponents hang anything

I think part of the algorithm is that brilliant moves are moves that are given as terrible moves by the engine on a shallow search depth but then turn out to be the best one for that scenario at a much greater depth. It's trying to mimic how humans see great moves, ones that look unintuitive or just bad at first glance but then turn out to be amazing when you think them through.

2:13 IF HE TAKES YOUR BISHOP ROOK D8, ROOK E8, ROOK TAKES, BISHOP TAKES QUEEN TAKES IS MATE

i think the last brilliant move was because it helps the knight escape while sacrificing the rook

I got a pawn protected by a horse forking two Queens then got mated

    Rf6 isn't so brilliant as Qc7 is a massive blunder…

Please please comment more 300 elo match I was dying laughing

i just got my first brilliant after watching this video all i did was take a pawn with my bishop and sacked it for mate i am 500 elo

Pawn push provides a safe square for the knight, which I'm sure Levy noticed. But probably not Brilliant.

Moral of the story: Brilliant moves are either mind-blowing moves or pity medals for 300-700s

we needed that for all those who post their shitty "brilliant" moves on tiktok and reels

Basically, brilliant move is a casual blunder you make evry game with unexpected turnover of events that actually puts you in a winning position.

I think that the evaluation of a brilliant move is that you sacrifice some material. But yeah, it's not always the best move.

i feel like 12:00 is a brilliant because if the bishop takes the bishop it will lead almost to mate and if white doesnt do that and does something else then black bishop takes white bishop and you are up by a knight after knight takes bishop, rook takes knight, rook takes rook and queen takes rook

I just literally played 3 brilliant moves yesterday and today I am watching this. Thank you for ruining my mood, Levi

fun fuct, im my history of 3 months of games as 600 elo, i've played a brilliant in 4 games, 3 lost 1 win

I got a castle brilliant move once, rip that now

Brilliant moves just represent a move where you went from even or losing to completely winning. That's it. It just means you're now completely winning. I think it can also sometimes mean "hey, literally anything else you did would've instantly lost you the game! Good job not instantly losing!"

That's actually makes me feel better because some games i really play brilliant crazy moves and sacrifices but after analysing i don't find any brilliant moves

Also sometime i see they gave my opponent brilliant moves on really normal moves and actually i won at the end so imagine winning while your opponent managed to play a brilliant move

Once my friend trapped my queen. I spent 1 minute to sacrifie my knight and save my queen. I checked the analysis it calculated it as the best move. I SACRIFICED MY KNIGHT AS A 700. I didn't get a brilliant

I disagree, brilliant moves should be addressed even if the player is winning, beceuse of objectivity.

I remember my first brilliant move… it was when I moved a bishop somewhere when I was already winning and I still dont get it why that was a brilliant

This is heartbreaking. At 1278 ELO I only last week reached the peak of my chess career receiving my first Brilliant move.
Now Sensei says my brilliant move means nothing 😭😭😭

average LiChess enjoyer: doesn't need brilliant moves

Stockfish probably didn't give him a brilliance on his rook sacrifice so he's angry on it😂

I’m one of those players that has had a round estimates as a 2250 and other rounds with an estimated elo of 800

I think the last one was a brilliant because moving the pawn ensure the safe return of the knight, protects the passed pawn from being taken that is threatening to promote while sacrifing their own rook to create an attack . I'm sure black definitely didn't think all of that and completely forgot their rook was hanging but i guess at the level of stock fish its the best move that maintains an advantage even after a rook sacrifice and creates an attack
