I received over 20 brilliant moves before reaching 1000, just 6 months after i started playing. Half of these i didn't bother saving because i felt like i did not deserve it, although i do think it would be funny to somehow re-visit them one day.

It's brilliant because mittens decides it to be.

I did a game review and found my opponent did a brilliant move and that move was just moving the king from check and the move was the only move the opponent can play (how its brilliant 😅)

    I got a brilliant move for taking a free queen 😂 I wasn’t complaining

i recently played my first brilliant move, if you want to see it my account is qwertyuiop123123123123 and the opponent was a person with a korean profile picture. if you do see it please tell me if it is good or not. 🙂

8:05 that was my game and honestly I never understood why it was a brilliant, now I do, it wasn't the algorithm is messed up lol

I knew my brilliant move was not that good I wondered why it was a brilliant move in the first place. My bishop was trapped and a pawn was attacking it. And that pawn was defended by a queen and that queen was also defending a knight that my queen was attacking. So I just took the pawn and it was a brilliant move

Yeah, also when im playing the english opening sometimes it gives me the brilliant move in THEORY, when i take the e5 pawn with my knight and after knight takes knight i fork the bishop and knight with my d pawn, but sometimes it gives me the book move, its really weird

In the past i created a Software which analyzes the Game regarding beautiness of the Game played. Well , alot of discussion happened about that but at least was more useful than checking one single move in a game 😁

In a game today I castled and it was deemed a blunder but when my opponent hung their queen it was deemed an inaccuracy…

This, by far, was the longest way I was ever told that I’m not that smart ><

Me: I just had my first brilliant move!
Levi: Why brilliant moves are stupid

I’m a Lichess masochist all day… no good or brilliant moves there just inaccuracies, mistakes, and blunders. Had a great game? Here’s how you screwed it up anyway!

I think brilliant moves are the moves that made a huge contribution in that game after analysis (for example 11:52 the bishop captured many pieces in the game although is because of the mistakes from the opponent).
So I think a normal move may be categorized as a brilliant move when the opponent falls through the trap/made mistakes.

they work on analysis depth, higher depth higher elo

I got awarded a brilliant move today. It was not bad. I ignored an attack on a rook and threatened checkmate. It was mildly clever but hardly what I'd call brilliant.

It's not a brilliant move unless spectators throw gold coins at you.

Had 2 in one game. Meh? No idea 🤷‍♀️

Wtf are these 600 rated games? I play a 600 rated game and they know every move in the book, why aren't my opponents as bad as the ones in this video

Brilliant move is according to the ELO related to both the players.

Same happened to me too i m a 1590 my opponent was 1647
    He sac the knight
    Which was mate in 5
Which obviously I saw but he didn't knew the follow up

my friend castled in most normal position, and he got brilliant move

i hate proprietary stuff because i can't even figure out what i am supposed to do with it

Please tell me how to send you chess game and where to send

Tldr — Most brilliant moves are brilliant only if you know exactly how to follow it up.

it hurts to see people having 10 times my elo rating

"which makes us all feel very warm and nice inside"
12:28 is hilarious, love that analogy

Where are these 600s when I play 😂😂😂

It's funny how the brilliant move has lost its rarity.I played like a few thousand games and had 2 brilliant moves and rn almost every 2nd game where i SACRIFICE THE ROOK it's considered a brilliant

Spending 10 min in r/chessbeginners should tell everyone that brilliant moves are not that brilliant.

Brilliant moves are moves that shouldn't work but do💀

Perhaps another factor for what makes a brilliant move is when it leads to an only-move situation for the opponent, while also being a (relatively) hard-to-find tactic – such as 11:53.

One time I got a brilliant move for trading bishop for knight

A lot of theory line moves are also brilliant moves like in the traxler the knight sacrifice of in the fried liver attack the knoght sacrifice.

Thank you oh wise and mighty one…
I will study this video a few more time to hope remember your analysis…

Ohhhh…. lemme in your world nuuuuuoohh boy your looking now bou yeah that's why.
