My brother castles queen side when an attack was not a threat and it's a brilliant cause he lost a pawn

I've only had one brilliant move in my life. Still don't know how it's brilliant. I blundered a bishop but the game review said it was brilliant. No clue how

It seems Levy just sacrificied his hair in the barber Gambit.

I'm not 100% sure, but I heard from different people who said that the brilliant moves are connected to the elo. So I think that might make a little bit more sense…

I think ELO is tied to brilliant moves, because I remember when I was 700 I got a brilliant move, then when I came back to that game when I was 1000, it got turned into a good move….

Here's my thoughts: the computer analyses the whole game first, so they know what they played, and that's why we get brilliant moves

My most recent brilliant move was a pawn and knight vs pawn endgame, just sacking the knight was enough for a brilliant move because my pawn was too far away for the opponent's king to capture. Seeing the review show a brilliant and then finding out that it was such an obvious move was a massive letdown.

Bro a few days ago I sacrificed my queen to find mate in 3. All I got was a best move. AND THE FOLLOW UP TO THE QUEEN SAC GOT A GREAT MOVE. HOW DOES THAT EVEN WORK?

Brilliant moves are a lie because I don't get any

I got a brilliant it, but then I blundered right after I still won but I missed made a mate in one😢

Yeah, i am the Indian_knightrider in the 1st reviewed game😂
Not gonna lie, those were some pretty nasty moves

I love to see that the comments section just roasts Levy that he “don't” know how the Brilliant move works

22:22 i think it has something to do with the knight. before he wasn't able to save it

I love how Levy tries not to talk about his masterclass but he ends up talking about it anyway.

    Edit: THANK YOU FOR 1
    LIKE!!!

    And he sacrificed the “HAIRCUTTTTTT”

Why does Levy's left eye blinks first , or is it just me ?

i one time moved a rook to a open line and got a brilliant move

    I got a brilliant when I was +9 and it wasn’t even a sacrifice

Rook to d8 in first game? Seems quite nice pinning rook to king

what if the position is equal but then your opponent makes an innacuracy and the bar is at m9 only if u sac something would u count it?

Why couldnt white play rook d8 first game? Instead of rook d6

Bro my first brilliant move was crap I sacked my knight just to take a pawn

I literally just got done offering a draw to an opponent at move 7 because of sudden severe onset of cramping. The offer was not accepted. And the other matter was not refuted. That, of course, is unequivocally no excuse for not finishing a game. Sadly, it turned out to be a shitty game too. So shitty shorts for a shitty game. Honestly, it's for the best. Cuz I'll do whatever it takes to create an edge.

My only brilliant move was when I sacrificed my knight which revealed an attack with my bishop on their queen. They took my knight and I took their queen. I went on to win while not even meaning to by checkmating with the rook while actually trying to move them back rank. I’m still proud of me to this day as a 500 elo.

Some people shouldn’t wear “tank tops” or whatever that is supposed to be?

I just got started playing chess earlier this week. Im 700 elo and am having a blast. Ty for the inspiration.

They explained in a blog post that brilliant moves are given more generously to low elo.

I'm old school and view the "brilliant" exclam (and especially double exclam) as requiring much more than an immediate tactical combo. It has to be something unbelievable, incredibly difficult to spot during a real game, and "surprisingly" effective. Something like Kasparov's Rxd4 in his immortal game is what's required.

If !! = ?? (the worst move in chess), then ?? would be better than the best move, but also the worst move, same applies to !!. Then if !! = ??, then !! is the worst move and ?? is better than the best move.

I think the move of the pawn allows the knight to escape

As a player of 1100 Elo I got 2 brilliant moves in 1 game yesterday and my opponent was 1200 Elo.

I’m stuck in 600 elo and it’s like the wild west
