I love that Spassky got the organizers to meet demands and visited Bobby in prison, what a cool guy.

The man was a certified genius.
The pressure of living in a world below him that it drove him to madness. It's so tragic.

Why did the black piece represent insanity in the thumbnail? Hmmmm

Whoever says something bad about Jews ,immediately perish. Why???

Stop gaslighting people. Bobby was not crazy. He was 180 IQ and right about jews.

Bet old barb has mixed feelings about having a crush on an anti-Semite…

He didn't go insane as claimed in this video. Being an outcast don't mean he was insane.

He was opinionated anti-American and anti-jew and had the right to express his opinion. You can't label a person as insane for having different views than yours.

He was spied on by the FBI including his family. He was abandoned, arrested incorrectly and tortured, and had multiple attempts on his life. He was abandoned by everyone including his country. He wasn't insane or paranoid, he was just observant.

The only thing I'll agree with him on is the US government going after people. There's numerous records unsealed that proved it.

Lol, you said "outside of the top three", and showed four fingers. 😉

I've always been a big fan of Bobby Fischer. Didn't know he was also a chess player

They mentioned that Fischer's mother was Jewish , but not that Spassky's was also.

I’m confused because magnus had 125 wins in a row

Good video! Totally true, he only won a single world championship but he is considered along with the goats of chess because he destroyed the best GM at the time with such an ease. Wish we could have seen more of what he was capable to do in the boards

" The queens gambit " is made after his life:))

Yes he was erratic, he became a conspiracy theorist and antisemitic, but more because his mental problems than any other cause, yes he became a fugitive from the law. But the reason was stupid and petty: he only wanted to win a championship, and he did. But USA was boycotting it. In today's world this would never happen in most countries. He committed no crime. He only thought of chess all the time and nothing else.

Such a waste of a good video by acting like a true American and think only an American can be the best at something. Kasparov, Morphy, Capablanca and Magnus are some names to mention if you talk about the greatest chess genius. Yes, he is a great mind, but not the greatest. That's Magnus or Kasparov. Got mad? I know he's from England, I'm joking.

@12:48 Paul Morphy has the biggest gap, between himself and the rest of his chess contemporaries, in the history of chess. He dismantled his rivals. He pulled a Michael Jordan and retired young because no one could challenge him.

Im not sacrificing my queen, i hang it and i win

According to Wikipedia, Regina married Hans-Gerhardt Fischer, aka Gerardo Liebscher. Given that, maybe the name Herman might also be correct.

people who test high for iq are more likely to have mental illnesses

Magnus, Carlsen, won 125, matches in a row and cool video

Having lived in the era of the Fischer vs Spassky World championship match, I felt both the political and social impact these 2 men had on the world. Spassky was a true gentleman; Fischer was an impetuous, single-minded individual. I watched the games as they were posted on boards shown on PBS, move by move. Wins, losses, and draws all had an impact on those of us favoring our respective player. The tension and drama, mostly from Fischer's insistence on having his way, seemed childish and undignified for such a noble game and location. In the end, Fischer showed his latent genius, winning the World Championship. It is sad to reflect on the end of those immortal games knowing how Bobby Fischer ended his chess career… and his solitary life, at age 64.
I celebrated Boris Spassky's 80th birthday by replaying some of those immortal games from 1972. I wished him well. And I believe he hoped Bobby Fischer finally found peace.

Jews, a people so repulsive they have to enact laws to stop you from naming their crimes

I think Fischer might have Schizophrenia, which is the illness my sister has. She is a talented Go player.

Me hearing that Bobby Fischer has a Jewish Mother:
*starts banging fists on the table*
    STOP LEAVING JUDAISM!!!! STOP!

ANTI-SEMITISTS WON'T STAND A CHANCE TO MY RAGE!!

Its a game ,same as golf,,no need to be athletic

Here in America if you’re a genius, you either work for the government or get crushed by it. America! 🇺🇸

CAN WE JUST REALIZE HOW RACIST THE FUCKING THUMBNAIL IS????

"Nobody has come close to matching that winning streak in the modern history of the game". Ahem. Magnus Carleson wasn't close, he blew it out the water with a 125 game winning streak at the height of his world champion run (he's still world champion, but that streak ended a few years ago and it looks like he'll be intentionally forfeiting the title by not contesting it anymore.)

bro magnus got a 100 win streak so idk but if bobby fischer and magnus played chess bobby will win

am i the only one who finds similarities with the (fictional) Queen’s Gambit
