That second game was nasty. Hikaru was about to win on time while only using a third of his own, had forced mate on the board, and his opponent's queen is locked in jail on his back rank. 🤣 Wonder if that game is going in his Disrespect playlist.

Can some English native chime in on what happened in the sentence "team led by a Magnus or a Hikaru"? What does it mean when you use an indefinite article in front of someone's name? For my layman's ear it sounds as if "a Magnus" or "a Hikaru" were a type of some mighty mythical chess creature of sorts. Do I get this right?

I dont get what goes on in the mind of super GMs when they play Magnus. He randomly starts pushing his A pawn when down positionally or in material and they just make a couple of waiting moves. All the while, he gets it down the board and they all wonder why their position is suddenly lost when they just watched it happen.
