this video was too advanced for me. i think you underestimate just how much of a beginner I am. Ive played plenty of chess, I'm not a complete beginner, but I have never heard of the London System

I really disagree with Levy's approach in this video. Players should not be wasting time trying to learn non-standard lines in the hope of getting an advantage, because playing non-standard lines does little to teach the developing student the ideas of the openings, and will fail to guide them once they get out of book. What if the opponent doesn't play as planned?

Database is cheating in my opinion and can be used with a 2nd GM program. How do I know when playing online with someone that my game is going to be fair ?

Thank you so much GothamChess. We need more people like you on this earth, so make sure you breed a lot 😂

you forgot to mention the greatest opening move for white; f3

after i started using a computer during the game, I have seen my progress skyrocket.

This was an amazing and informative video and extremely helpful to a lot of people just… im not sure how I got here and now I need to figure out how people are able to move the cross and tower at the same time

One of the best videos I've ever seen dude

You make me love chess. All your videos are fascinating. Thanks for sharing with such great virtuosity.

I can imagine @Dani using the power of coding to break the chess algorithm.

According to my understanding Delhi has not learned nothing from the COVID -19 epidemic!

why is chess like blowing up wtf
why do i like chess so much now

Jesus love you, he died on the cross for you, accept him as your lord and savior he can change everything. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life" (John 3:16)

But you must repent too. From that time Jesus went about preaching and saying, Let your hearts be turned from sin, for the kingdom of heaven is near. (Matthew 4:17):

    Димитар Велјановски says:

Today I played the Stafford gambit twice and I didn't even know that it exists until I watched this just now. Both games I won.

I have watched queens gambit but yet had not finished it and it got my interest to chess hire and now I am a beginner who won over 3 games because of you , so thank you

    “Amateur games, 1600, 1800…”

just my oppinion but …I found it a little hard to follow what was going on as an entire begginer.. lots of terms I dont know and moving VERY fast…

I notice over the years that woidpushers prefer black because they would rather counter because they don't know how to attack. So I always act disappointed when I get white to throw them off. Don't forget, chess is a psychological game outside of the game itself.

Thank you for assisting me in improving my chess game I have been trying to develop my game and have been stuck for quite some time. I am a 1200 rated player with much room to grow.

would be more fun if you got an electric shock every time one of your pieces gets captured . raise the intrigue and danger levels. Or for a bit of elegance. just shocks on checks

I watched this many months ago and decided that I should play more online games … just to build up my own database … every loss is a learning opportunity … every win is a surprisingly pleasant experience … partly because they are relatively rare … after watching this video again, it reinvigorates my motivation to play more games and build up my database so I can proceed with the analysis process … thanks for the guidance … much appreciated … 😎

i was thinking at exactly dutch defense when you were talking about setup openings versus non setup ones, and i put myself the question : could i play dutch defense as a setup? silly noob question probably. love your style.
just my opinion. after opening schemes, tips and tricks, yada yada yada, guess what follows : THE MIDDLEGAME, and middle game is most complicated, most beautiful part of chess in my , and others opinion, and there, you have to really play chess and with a plan. because whatever initiative or pawn plus or whatever you have out of the opening, you better not loseit while in middlegame and beyond ..ty for reading.

We need a way to go through the game explorer with the engine up at the same time!

Winning percentage for moves of people my elo is arguably more important than GM games.

Levy’s voice and tone occasionally goes all BEE GEESY . Notice??!!!

On your phone in a dark room: go to 5:05, pause the video, and shake your phone around for a crazy illusion

How to study chess openings…. Watch GothamChess vids on YouTube!

At what rating would you say people graduate from just needing to stop blundering basic stuff, to really needing to study in order to grow? As a former scholastic coach, at what point did you start telling your students to do this?

I feel like openings are one of those things where u have to learn all of them and their variations in order to actually be able to use any of them. Because if u don’t, a lot of the times u will say to urself “Wait, ur not suppose to do that.” And then everything goes to shit.

I guess the only thing that was not answered here was "how to study the openings" meaning, should you read and memorize it , or just repeat the moves on board or if u wana practice certain opening where and how to do it ?! and so on…

    His eyes look little scary
